Yeah I just thought it would be cool to have a "Leaderboard" where people can see where they rank in the faction with a quick glance :)

Hey guys. Sorry it's been taking me a while to get the map updated. Been pretty busy at work and of course, lots of basketball to watch this last weekend. Hoping to keep chipping away at it this week. I think that I'm going to list the major cities as best I can, but I might end up indexing them in a legend, since it's tough to get the text to show up clearly when your map varies between black and white for mountains and snow.

I also have modified the long NE peninsula to "pinch" the large bay off a little more tightly. Will try to get it posted soon.
Keep the entries for the first challenge coming! We don't want to be shown up by those Southern wimps!

Deadline for the first Garheim Challenge is this Sunday, the 25th. Details in the announcements section of the first post.

I was going to ask for a challenge extension, but I just got up and built instead- i'll hopefully be doing the photography and posting in the next few days.

Good for you, Richard! We Garhims don't make excuses. We just get things done! Looking forward to seeing your pics.

Also, for this and future local challenges, I likely will not be entertaining deadline extension requests. These challenges are meant to be small and fun, and if you don't have time to get in on it, you can always get in on the next one. There will be plenty of chances to participate, since there will hopefully be a couple each month.

If, for some reason, you want to submit an entry after the deadline (within a reasonable time period), I'll probably allow that for participation points, but you wouldn't be eligible to win.

Fair enough?

I would recommend that this be done in a uniform matter across the factions, but I would not mind a small defined period (3-4 days or perhaps a week at most) that you could still participate (and get participation points), but I agree that there should no chance that you would win.

Individual scoring in sort of independent between factions. Not all factions are required to host the same number of local challenges, score them exactly the same way, etc. So if they want to adopt what we do, that's great, but that's ultimately up to them. Also, I don't want people to make a habit of it, so I'd rather just say that you might be able to get points for submitting late, but that I'll consider it on a case by case basis, and you certainly won't be entitled to points if you submit late. If you are allowed, then consider it sort of just a bonus of having an awesome FO ;)

Also, I promise to be fair about it and I won't play favorites, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about it. Does that sound OK?

Fellow Garheimers, I have been stricken with a strange malady known as flu the last week so I haven't been participating since I returned from holiday, keep up the good fight vs the filth from Loreos until I return to the land of the healthy
