Wow that's pretty intense! Seems like something that could be incorporated at some point. Maybe not in random border disputes, but perhaps as part of a global challenge or something. We could call it the "Roawia Wargames" where the greatest generals of the lands come together to show who's faction has the greatest military minds, or something like that.

Very interesting! I think I understand the concept, it's a very cool idea, but it might be a little hard for two people to fight at the same time.
I also think it's a great idea to take pics of your army, and I think there should be a limit to the size of the armys, and this would be great for castles and towns :D

Can you explain the dice rolling more in depth? Like who rolled what in a particular part of a battle, and what happened as a result.

Also, is it possible for two squads to attack an enemy group at the same time?

@ AK_Brickster: Sounds good!

@ Brother Steven: indeed, if two people of the same faction are on the same side, it could be more difficult, but you could have the same faction represented by more colours then for instance, and / or have personalized banners. In bigger battles it's perhaps even recommended to split up the forces to keep one side from being able to use an overwhelming charge and shoot all their enemies in one turn. There's always ways :eyebrows:

@ Medieval Guy: Sure!

1st Diceroll: Rangers (1d6+1 damage) attack Zealots (4 armour). They roll 4 dice (1 for each soldier) of which 3 were a 3 or higher, thus 3 Zealots die.
2nd: Rangers and Landor's bodyguard (both 1d6+1 damage) make a combined assault against Princess Lorreaine's bodyguard unit (6 armour). They roll 7 dice of which 4 were a 5 or higher (the commander is always the last to die).
3d: Both the Zealots as the Axemen militia (all 1d6 damage and 4 armour) roll 4 dice simultaneously. The Zealots score two hits (4 or higher), the Militia score one.
4th: The sprint roll is a simple 1d6 roll to decide how many extra studs the unit can move. You can always move less far than you intended.
5th: In the Heroic Feat roll I typically roll a black die for the hero and a red one for the opposition. In this case the black one was a 4 and the red one was a 3, thus the feat proved succesful. Landor would later fail his feat.
6th: When the cavalry charged, they used their charge ability and gained an extra dice, so 6 instead of the typical 3. Typically only units with sharp, pointed weapons like spears or lances can charge.

The rest of the combat follows the same principles you saw before. Brikwars has somewhat more elaborate rules if you wish to follow them (like accuracy rolls), but if you understand this you can pretty much grasp the basics.

And if you like reading Lego castle battles, be sure to check out the Brikwars forum or more specifically my battle reports (warning, while it's not gonna be completely the same there may be some spoilers for Dawn of Westeron in here). Zahru does some great castle / fantasy battles as well. As a bonus they are commonly accompanied by stories as well, yay!

Interesting. I may toy with my own system that uses something like yours at a strategic level, allowing for small skirms with figs. I've done some experimenting with Lego wargame rules before, but in the modern arena, and they would be too complex for a medieval battle.

This is a mod moment...please understand I'm not trying to be overly picky or anything. But at CC we have rules about images in a post.

Please see the following:

I understand it may throw off the flow of what you were trying to do, but that many images in one post needs to be adjusted. Please do so. Thank you.

Good point, Blue.

You could possibly create a Flickr set for these and put them in order with captions below them. Then you could link to that set to here and still stay within the TOS.
