Reissue the collectible minifig sets in packs or single
I think I am not alone in wanting a few romans, monsters, vikings, but finding the shops raided from them. When turning to the internet, I see prices soaring with the angels. To me, this seems like a business opportunity.
Please make some packs, or singular figures, made from the most popular of the minifig series, they could sell for 4$ (4euro's) apiece easily, with probably some discount if a pack can be made.
Collectible has its merits, so I'd wait for at least a year after releasing the collectibles before releasing the per-figure option, and wait until a nice set can be made if a pack style is chosen.

Since all three of those archetypes do a lot of raiding, I imagined they all wanted to get minifigs in their likeness when reading this sentence.Zilberfrid wrote:I think I am not alone in wanting a few romans, monsters, vikings, but finding the shops raided from them.
While I would certainly love for this to occur, I think it really takes away from the whole "Get them while they are hot! Collect 'em all!" thing LEGO has got going on with them. Not to mention it's not the best for marketing. We can certainly dream, but I think it won't play out how we hope, sadly. As for the raids on stores, it's just life. Unfortunately,we have to deal with it.

OverLoad basically summed up my thoughts. I am wondering how long Lego will continue coming up with new minifigures though. Eventually, they will run out of ideas. Maybe then they could rerelease some fig packs?

Considering that the Roman from S6 is going for about $10 per fig on Bricklink, I have to assume that if they made battle packs of these guys available, or even allowed us to order them one at a time online, they could probably ask for $4-5 each and move a LOT of them. Same goes for any army-building fig. I think that the AFOL/TFOL community is pretty nearly unanimous in their hatred for the 'mystery bag' system. I would buy a lot more of these if they were readily available. The fact is, that I don't have the time, nor does my wife have the patience, for me to stand in the toy aisle for 2 hours a pop, meticulously feeling through 4 boxes of figures, only to find after all that time that someone else has beaten me to them, and nabbed all of whatever "figure X" I happen to be searching for.
Come on, TLG! Listen to your customers!!
I hereby would like to designate this thread as a petition. All of the accounts on this site are associated with an email address, I assume, so this should allow us to provide a pretty "official" petition. If you agree with me that TLG should make the more popular figures available as "known" singles or in some sort of battle pack, simply post "I AGREE!" in the comments below.
Personally, I would buy at least 20 of the elves, robin hoods, spartans, romans, evil dwarves, vikings, highlanders and soon, the evil knights, if only I didn't have to waste so much time hunting for them.
TLG, thanks for listening.

even if all they did was make the army builders the ones that there are five per box and not 3 per box I would be a little happier.

I kind of like how these figures are rare. Releasing them in battle packs would take away some of the "magic".

But where's the fun in having a minotaur army if you can just buy one?

While I see your point about the magic and excitement, I think you're in the minoity here. Looking at the upcoming series, I'd say there is a bit of a compromise. We get the magic of searching for them, but we can find more of the army builders. If this is setting a trend, I think that all parties can be satisfied.wobnam wrote:I kind of like how these figures are rare. Releasing them in battle packs would take away some of the "magic".

yes, I would be quite happy if the army builders were the more common figs instead of being the rarer ones like they normally are.Medieval Guy wrote:While I see your point about the magic and excitement, I think you're in the minoity here. Ironic, isn't it? The ones you want a lot of are harder to find than the ones you only want one of. This alone suggests to me that LEGO is deliberately targeting the AFOL crowd with the collectible minis. There probably aren't too many young kids interested in army-building with LEGO.lord_of_orks wrote:yes, I would be quite happy if the army builders were the more common figs instead of being the rarer ones like they normally are.

While the maic of the collectibility certain has some charm, I do think that waiting 1-2 years will leave that magic pretty much intact, even the target audience will work, AFOL's and TFOL's (to a lesser extent, generally) will have less an issue with waiting then kids, There is very little needed, just a page on the lego site, and packaging in an envelope, doubling as the package. The molds already exist.
