Series 7.... It's a Boar! (and other castle parts)

Post by andhe »

This was being discussed when pictures of series 7 were revealed. There was debate as to what the emblem on the Black Knight's shield was...

Well if anyone has the latest lego club magazine (mine arrived this morning) there's a pictures of all the figs doing various things, and the knight's shield is visible and... it's a boar! Should make for an interesting new faction.

In terms of other Castle parts, the viking lady has a good torso design, new helmet with hair mould, and flat silver gladius. The Red hood on the 'grandma visitor' (official name) is a welcome addition, as is her basket. The Aztec type warrior could make for some exciting army building, espically with a great helm, eagle shield and golden spear. And i'm sure people will find castle uses for the tarzan boy torso, bagpiper parts and new silver crown on the bride.

All in all so good parts for castle fans to look forward to soon (April 6th is official release I think).

Whoa cool, these parts will come in handy.
To the Lego Club magazine, good thing we get it finally here in Finland now but bad that we have to wait until June for the first issue.

Try this link out. You can read the magazine online :)

http://club.lego.com/en-us/behindthebricks/default.aspx

You might have to have an account. Not sure.

EDIT:
It doesn't look like the info you're referencing is contained in the online version of the magazine (that's up now, anyway).
Can you maybe scan that page and post it here?

That's a different cover/magazine to my one in the UK. I'll try scan the page in question and get it uploaded.

Here's a picture of the Boar shield from the magazine. If you want to see the whole page you can go to the lego club website and type in code GAMEBOARD, but it's pretty low quality.

The boar knight is very attractive and thanks for the update. My excitement is tempered a bit because photos have been out for almost a year of series 7. I think this will make for a great faction.

Thank the LEGO gods I will only be collecting the boar knight from this series. Series 6 was very expensive for me. (over 180 figs) The Aztec looks awesome but I just cant justify getting an army of them. Perhaps a few for a MOC some day.

Unfortunately, I predict TLG will once again only put 3 of these in a case and I will have to make many trips to the LEGO stores to get the 54 I am hoping to collect. I cannot even explain how angry the distribution of figures in each case makes me. :twitch:

However, for the first time I think that a non-castly figure may be the most expensive. I think the space marine is likely to be the most wanted fig and will command the biggest selling price among the series 7 figures. So perhaps the boar knight will be a little more readily available.

I'm hoping to get
3-5 of the Evil Knights (I was hoping for a red snake shield but a boar works too)
1 Grandma Visitor (nice basket and hood)
1 Bride (hopefully a new hair piece to put a crown in and maby the one ring)
1or2 Galaxy Patrol (looks really cool)
1 Viking Woman for a present.
Haven't got my Club magazine but hopefully it comes soon :?

Thanks for the picture and the code. Not terribly excited about the shield for some reason, but it's always nice to have a new faction, and I love that helmet style, so I'll be picking quite a few of these guys up.

Thanks for the image. Yea the knight looks really great but that shield could been better, it is something strange about it. Can´t put my finger on it what it is though, but I will be getting many of these :D

That looks fantastic! Are the decorative marks on the shield and armor white or silver? Hoping for silver!

I would like that shield so much more if it weren't for the white/silver pattern around it.

Same with the knight, I'm not too fond of that style of helmet nor do I really like the patterned chest plate. The sword though, that is what makes it. I know there are probably going to be dark pearl gray long swords(I ask again, is this what we should be calling the new sword?) in the LOTR line, i can't pass up and opportunity to get another.

The Evil Knight is pretty cool, though I don't like his face, nor did I like the Evil Dwarf's. Red eyes just seem silly. I will possibly buy some of these, though the Viking Woman is my top pick, and I need a Bagpiper.

yeah, I'm not a big fan of the red eyes, when ever I get these figures I part them out into the rest of my figs and Its going to look pretty weird if I have some random red eye guy mixed in with the rest of my human figs :?
