Well, AK_Brickster didn't actually give him points but he said... "I'm pretty sure we'll have to give you 2 points for this as a free-build..."

So I think at this point, with local challenge points being awarded, We can begin to give free build points. Remember .. "FREE BUILDS
All members are allowed up to two free builds per month."

Nope he actually gave two points, he was really sure, not pretty sure :tasty:

Yeah I sort of acted without talking to the other FOs first, but I figured since I was going to give 2 to Brother Steven, then to be fair I'd better give 2 to Eklund as well.

I have made a spreadsheet to keep track of local scoring. If the other FO's would like me to send them a copy of it, I'd be happy to do so.

Also, if you want to receive points for your free-builds, please make sure to post a thumbnail w/ link in your faction thread, so that the FOs can easily keep track of them. It's also nice to be able to see what our members are building at a glance. Thanks!

I wanted to ask about the frequency of local builds (maybe should've been Garheim-specific, but i'll post here all the same).

I completed this week/month's one, but now that free build scoring has opened up i'm more interested in building big. I'll still be participating in the challenges obviously to keep the numbers up, but i'm worried they might be too frequent or fast for me to build often?

Local challenge frequency will be up to each Faction's FO. We've been in discussion about this lately, and have decided that there will be some flexibility in how frequent the Local Challenges (faction specific) will be. I think Wobnam is going to update this in the main INFO/FAQ thread, but it's basically going to be that there will be a maximum amount of points per month, and the FO can decide how he wants to split them up between challenges. One big challenge for all the points, 4 smaller ones with fewer points, etc.

If you can't participate in each local challenge, you don't have to, as participation in these only affects your personal score. The challenges that we really would like to see maximum participation in will be the global challenges, where factions will compete against each other. These will only occur every other month, so you should have plenty of time to fit them in.

The first one of these will be coming soon, so stay tuned ;)

Each faction is keeping track of their own member's personal status point tallies. If your faction doesn't have a score tally, you can PM your FL and or FO about it, but I'm pretty sure that Teherean and Hayden are both working on it. Lork of Orks and I already have scores posted in our faction threads.

Once global contests start up, faction scores will most likely be posted somewhere in the INFO/FAQ thread, I imagine.

So this global challenge you keep talking about, any idea when it's gonna happen? As in this week, this month(highly unlikely, but lets pretend it's April already) in a couple of weeks? Because I kinda wanna join the Jolly Roger contest, but If we get a global challenge soon I know I shouldn't use all my parts immediately.

We are hoping to announce it in the first week of April. Since it's the first one, and we want everyone to participate, we won't be asking for a 90x60 stud fortress. This first one will be smaller in scale, so you probably won't need all of your parts for it. Keep an eye open for the announcement sometime early next week ;)

Does every local challenge build/catagory have to be centered around your character, or is it fine to just include him in some minor way?

is the deadline on global challenges going too be longer, like a month? Been rather busy right now and in a few weeks I will go back to work being away from there a couple of months. Then I will also have less time to build and plan.
