Picking up the Pieces

Postby OverLoad » Sat Apr 14, 2012 2:00 pm

Shortly following the end of the war between the Dragon Kingdom and the Lion Kingdom, the Dragon Kingdom's villages had to rebuild their villages. In this scene, we see new roads being put down, a house being re-thatched, and some new chickens being herded to the farms on the outskirts. It almost seems as if the peaceful lives of the peasants were never interrupted by the military quarrels of greedy kings.

Latest MOC. Testing out a bunch of things. For one, the half-timbering style. I originally wanted to have the roof completely covered in thatch, but due to part limitations I was not able to do so. So, an idea hit me; a village rebuilding itself. Another thing I was testing is the background. Is the blue looking good?

As always C&C welcome. :)

I like it, it looks just like a roof under construction :D .
White background would be better.

The idea of herding chickens cracks me up, lol. Somewhat akin to herding cats, I imagine!

The roof and road under construction look really nice. Would be nice to see a foundation of dirt under the cobbles though, instead of just laying it on the grass.

Nice job!

Indeed, the roof idea is quite good. Great work on the path/street also.

Yeah, I'm liking that roof, and digging the path.

Never thought about putting a layer of dirt underneath the cobble, makes a lot of sense now that I think about. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep in mind for my next project! :)
