Put the bar codes back on CMF bags

Postby Knight Man » Mon Apr 30, 2012 8:23 pm

Why not put the bar codes back on the CMF bags? The Tfol's and Afol's who have say an Ipod touch or a smart phone could scan the bags to get what they want without feeling and the little kids would still have to get them as mystery packs.

Because the most popular ones are the most popular for a reason. If all the TFOLs and AFOLs got all the ones they want (and by extent the best ones), then kids would be very sad when they couldn't find that minifigure they wanted so bad. Forcing older fans to identify 'figs the same way kids do would, and does, make it much more fair for everyone. Ever wonder why all the Spartans vanished so fast? :raiseone:

They were never supposed to have the bar codes in the first place.

The wife and I proved that the bar-code phone app was slower than me anyhow. If I am around a pile of these things I will help any kid that comes up to find exactly what they want. As should everyone else with this "skill". Heck, I even teach other kids and family members how to do it. Keep it as is, it seems to make everyone quite happy to discover them through application of "skill".

Yeah, I agree that the bit of work that you have to do to get them makes it all the more rewarding. It's weird, but that's how it works.

Didn't even need an app. I eyeballed them. The spartan barcode was very distinctive. I wiped out all of the spartans in 3 cities, and it did not take very long.

Don't worry, I got what was coming to me. When I discovered the Series 3 figs, they were all upside down in their cases because somebody was checking the dots. Not an elf to be found.

As much as I would love barcodes to simplify my own sorting at home, I agree that the barcodes should not return.
