Quality Control Issues in Uruk-hai Army set?

Post by Blaze Ryder »

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this so if a moderator/administrator could please move it to the correct one I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anyways, I bought the Uruk-hai Army set today and the bow it came with was rather poor in quality. It was a dull, translucent-y brown, as if the dye/colouring agent used in the plastic didn't set properly. I'm kind of disappointed (but at the same time kind of happy, I got a "magical" bow) and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with the set. I'm also curious to know if this is worth contacting LEGO Customer Support about or if I just got lucky with a "bad" piece.

The picture doesn't really do it justice. It looks more like the edges of one of the chromed longswords after all the chrome-yness has been removed.

It is always worth calling customer support. They need to know there are problems, so they can look into the issue. Now if it is just a print issue, like the female skirts do not line up with the torsos, that they know exists. But calling is how they learn about things. And they are really good about investigating and such. They may want a number off your box, so if you have it, keep it for when you call.

personally I think its a fluke, I've gotten several of the lotR sets and non of them were lower quality so I don't see why this one would be.

Regardless, contacting customer support is worth the time. He can get a replacement if available, and get their attention about the quality control issue.

I agree with that, I was just pointing out that I thought it was just a "one time" thing not a low quality issue for all of the sets.
