Gnome's Hat

Post by Frank_Lloyd_Knight »

Dear Lego,
I think that the Gnome's hat (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=93666) is a terrific piece, which could be a useful element for numerous figures in ancient, medieval, or fairy-tale settings. I hope you might continue to use it for various figures and in all sorts of colors in the future.
Thank you,
FLK

I've found it looks a bit odd on anything other than the gnome, but maybe just haven't found the right combination of pieces yet! Any suggestions would be great to see. CMF pieces seem to work their way into 'mainstream' sets (though perhaps not as much or as quickly as we'd like... hint hint TLG!), so would be great to see this hat in brown, or red (even just for a bit of gnome variation!).
Less talking, more MOCing.

with the new smurf movie, I think if TLG makes a smurf theme that this hat will be used as the smurfs hats in white. :tasty:

Has anyone else seen the Christmas posters of Santa's elf? They used the same picture last year aswell. The elf uses the gnome hat with ears sticking out of the side. Anyone know if we are ever going to get the elf as a figure?

I have often wondered if perhaps the hat (and maybe even the beard on the Gnome) didn't originate as a demo piece for some sort of licensing proposal for the Smurfs; And then maybe since no deal was made (another toy company getting the license), they recycled the piece in the collectible minifig series. But I have no idea how these things actually work.

I always thought it looked like a smurf hat too. In fact, I was speculating that they could do a Smurf themed collectible minifigure set to tie in with the movie. Never happened, but I would have bought two cases.

Smurfs would be great in lego form. I'd love to see a Gargamel's lab in his medieval house in lego form, though they probably would have made him a larger figure with the smurfs being minifig scale.
