News! Minifigure series 8

Post by mencot »

We have waited with with anticipations on any news on the series 8 (I have :) ) Finally lego has shared something, in the new Lego club magazine (supposedly, can´t confirm this cause haven´t gotten our Club mag yet) EDIT: Got the magazine today, yes last page has an ad over whats going to come and there it is
But there is a teaser image of a pirate and the text "out in september"

Image

The pirate doesn´t look too special but nice to see one finally come in the series, hopefuly the rest of them will be worth waiting for :D.

Yea ok that jacket-torso is nice (and I understand you pirate enthusiasts will love it :D) but it is usable in other themes also. So that is what I will use it for. The hat naaa (pirate enthusiasts again love it i guess :tasty:)

That torso is amazing. I'll have to pick up a few of those to start my Steampunk army, that torso is much more attractive than the standard Imperial Redcoat IMO.

Can't wait to see what else is in this wave, my fingers are crossed for a early 20th century diver with diving helmet! :D

Hmm that could be very cool, I am hoping for more castle themed figs, maybe an upgraded classic fig again would be cool :D
Btw that pirate captains cutlass and hook if they are gold it could be handy, I will then get a few more of him :D

Well, that too of course. Maybe we will get some sort of monk with a book? I can always dream, can't I?

I got my lego club magazine yesterday and can confirm this with my own eyes. If it's a september release I'd hazard a guess we'll see them end of August (in the UK at least, to capitalise on sales before the end of the school holidays), and hopefully an official image some time mid-summer, probably after the release of the Olympic figs (so as to keep the hype in the UK, and give the rest of the world something different to get excited about).

I'd love a white hood, but can't think what figure they would make that would have one (druid??).

edit: typo.

Shall I go ahead and check "Pirate" off of our compiled wishlist, or wait for the full series to be revealed?

So after my initial woohoo about the torso, I'm going to reserve my excitement until we have further proof that indeed it will be part of the series. It wouldn't be the first time an image contained something that did not happen (read elves in the fantasy line). I guess we just have to wait to see.

Thats true, yea we´ll just have to wait and see :)
"Edit"
Seems waiting and speculation on what the figs are is over, here is the list of figures shared by GRogall over on Eurobricks:
Ancient Thespis
Pirate Captain
Conquistador
Enemy Robot
Evil Female Alien
Diver
Vampire
Fairy
Football Player
Trader
Skier
Red Cheerleader
Santa Claus
Boy in Bavarian costume
DJ
Cowgirl

Now we can speculate what they will look like
Oh well guess it is best to wait for the official images of these, probably they will turn up soon, when the figlist is out. some of these sound really interesting :)

A lot of them sound like the easy "gender/color change an existing fig" sort of stuff, but I am curious to see the fairy and a few others.

"Boy in Bavarian Costume" sounds like he might be the mountain climber we were hoping for.
