LC2-Outlaws-Pet

Post by DarkTemplar »

Hi all, again this ones still quite story driven (continuing from my last) so I won't be surprised if it gets moved but I did put more work into the MOC this time :D.

(This is a continuation of the story started in my LC1viewtopic.php?f=4&t=22111)

Redefining man and man's best friend - LC2

Amaranthrine's head had been pulsating since his recent resurrection. He had since wondered out of the catacombs where he had been sealed and walked the road at night, not because of fear but after centuries in the dark he just could not suffer the light of day. But what bothered Amaranthrine now was this full, yet ever wanting feeling that consumed him. He had never felt like this before, even when living. He had called on the Demon Prince for guidance but there was no answer. Amaranthrine grew weary.

He continued to travel North as he felt compelled to do so he happened upon the town of Salus. He had yet to look upon his new body formed by the blood magic used on Lord Issac and did not know if it would pass for living flesh, so he camped outside the town in a small cave. During the night he decided to brush up on his skills. He would summon a shadow fire. He quickly looked for a living object. A rat scurried across the floor; before making it across the cave Amaranthrine took it's soul with Bloodmagic to fuel his shadow fire spell. Before he could cast he was overwhelmed with the need for food and shelter, then he became empty again.

“That was it!” He thought to himself. In his past experience with blood magic he would consume part of a soul and use the rest for a spell; but when he did he would feel the presence of that soul briefly before it faded into the void within him. The consumption of Lord Issac marked the first time he had ever fully consumed a soul and now Lord Issac's soul had partially bonded with his own. Amaranthrine knew his soul had been weak since his resurrection. All that was left now was his hate and arrogance, those of which he had given to the Demon Prince. He could not remember much from before except his death and his rage at those who slew him; but as he opened his mind's eye more of Lord Issac's memories flowed towards him.

He saw a young boy playing in the fields. Then he was running filled with joy, towards a Knight decorated in silver, red and white. A golden lion in the center of his breastplate. The Knight picked up the boy with a smile and carried him back towards a Manor house.

Then another vision. The boy was much older now, he was scared. Everything was on fire... no wait... the fields were on fire..and in the center... a dragon. The Knight grabbed the boy and forced him into the cellar along with a servant. The Knight smiled then left. Then the fire was gone, it was morning. The dragon lay dead, but the Knight remained alive. The boy ran up to the Knight who was laying in the ash. He had been burned badly, barely alive. His face was covered in boils, his right arm and left leg had been burned down to the bone, the rest was covered by armor. He passed away in the boys arms but not before smiling one last time.

Then a final vision. A statue of the Knight stood in the center of a town. The boy, now a young man wandered out of a ruined mausoleum in the cemetery; his look was forlorn but determined. He held a golden plate in his hand. A man met him outside and handed him a book in exchange for the plate and the vision ended.

It all made sense now. With the death of his father this Lord Issac had become a poor Lord reduced to grave robbing to continue a life-style fitting the son of one of the most heroic Knights of the countryside. Amaranthrine thought he may pity the man but then his new found greed overcame him. He would resurrect the Knight. A dragon slayer would be a fitting general for his army and, not just that but, he could resurrect the Knight to his full potential; and not just some mindless wretch. For he now had the Knights ancestral blood within him. Furthermore, Amaranthrine now knew why he was at this town, it was the town from his vision. He recognized the Church as he peered out of his cave towards the town; before receding back inside after encountering the blinding light.

Amaranthrine waited until night fall and journeyed into the town. On his way he saw a parchment on the ground and picked it up. It read that Loreos and Lenfald had joined forces to slay the Outlaws of the South. On the top of flier were two crests, golden lion and a green dragon. Amaranthrine immediately recognized the golden lion from the Knights armor in his vision. He lips curled with evil delight as he realized his plan would not only gain him a powerful ally, but further stir up this conflict. To throw a Loreotian hero into the fray, but as a foe of Loreos gave him a sense of purpose which he had not felt for quite some time.

Amaranthrine hurried to the graveyard and found the mausoleum as though he had been there a thousand times before. He quickly arose an undead wretch from the nearest grave plot to force open the mausoleum door. Inside was quiet a tragic site. Vines has crept through the cracks and now dangled from the roof. Water had dripped from the ceiling and formed stalactites. A column lay fallen and smashed across some steps. At the top of the steps was a decorated mantle above a sarcophagus which was no doubt grand at the time of burial; but now lay as a relic. The Loreotian red and white had faded to burgundy and cream and the gold statues lay encrusted with grime. In faded lettering on the mantle Amaranthrine read Sir Frederick Issac. Amaranthrine ordered his wretch to pull the sarcophagus out from under the mantle and remove the cover; Amaranthrine approached the open casket. He looked down upon the once great Knight. His armor still looked new, but the body had now turned to bones. He could still clearly tell where the Knight had been burned as no armor was present there.

Amaranthrine extended his staff to the Knight and opened his stance. He closed his eyes and spliced his soul, taking care to place a higher concentration of the young Lord Issac's then his own into the new fragment. It then manifested itself in his palm and a violet stone. He placed the stone in under the Knight's armor where his heart would be. The body shook, the eyes burned purple, then red. The Knight thrust his sword upward then stopped and starred at Amaranthrine.

“Yes,I brought you back Sir Frederick and you are now mine. My servant, my minion, my general. You will serve me in the disruption of this Loreos-Lenfald campaign and you will show me where the most power soldiers of Loreos now lie. And if you serve me well, I just might release all of your son's soul to you and let you both rest.”

Sir Frederick nodded in agreement and stepped out of his resting place to follow his master, filled with a mixture of hate, greed and endless void; not even a shadow of his former self.

This is absolutely so AWESOME. The builds both your first LC and this one, are we nicely done. But your story is "over the edge" in a good way :D. Are you some sort of a writter or something :tasty: . Just awesome.
Btw do you wanna start writting my stories, I give you the ideas and the rough text. You fill out the rest with your writters talent :P
Oh and you with your undead army and the orcs will give us some challange opposite to the puny lame unorganized bandits and barbarian. Have to look out for your evil magic, undead riser :D

Thanks for the comments. Actually I've always enjoyed making back stories for my characters/heros for as long as I can remember, I've just expanded on them a bit. The writing bit I also find a bit easier then building as I get stuck in so many unnecessary meetings at work, I just start jotting down ideas on my phone :p. I could write stories for you but then u wouldn't get any experience doing it yourself; I'm sure there will come a time in your life when there is just not enough time to learn.Just give it a go and make sure to have someone check your stuff before posting :)
