Super Warriors

Post by andhe »

The idea started with trying to give Captain America a dark blue hood, I then thought it would be fun to try and 'castle-ify' my current collection of Superhero figs. I've always liked the 'what if?' type comics, with Batman in the Dark Ages, or Superman in communist Russia etc I love that the characters are so iconic they remain recognisable even with a bit of tweaking.
So here is my attempt at transplanting my superhero figs into a more castle/fantasy type setting.

edit: And my attempt at the Movie Avengers (minus Hulk). Thor was tricky as he is fairly 'castle' already, and on reflection, I think Iron Man should maybe have been a wizard.

batman man and captain America are my favorites, they came out really well :) the guy on the end(green lantern?) looks pretty good to, but wonder woman looks a bit odd and the first thing I thought when I saw super man was "super thor? :? "

Yes, "Super Mage" does seem like a Thor hybrid with the big hammer. I would think that a mage's staff would be a little less cumbersome, but I guess when you are the Medieval Man of Steel, what's a few extra pounds on the end of your spell-casting device?

Batman already is the "Dark Knight", so his transition into the castle era is an easy one. You definitely did a nice job with Capt. America as well. I really really need to get some blue hoods!

The guy on the end is Lex Luthor, though I appreciate the kryponite staff could be confusing! I've had some thoughts on improvements for a few of them already, admittedly some came together easier than others. The hammer is more a reference to the Superman character 'Steel' and thought this made a bit more sense than just a staff.

Thanks for the comments!

Man that is really awesome! Captain America is the best! The dark knight looks great too! It's been said before but I think wonder woman and super man are kinda lacking.

I have made some slight edits following comments and feedback of my original picture, both on here and flickr. I had wanted to give Superman a beard, hopefully now he looks less Loki, and people didn't like the hammer, so hopefully less like Thor now (though he has ended us with a more similar face/hair combo) thought the staff was more of a stand-in and something I'd like to put a bit more thought into. I think the spear and shield combo is a vast improvement on Wonder Woman. I made and since changed Robin following some suggestions, but think I still prefer him with hair to a hood. I hope to do some more superheroes/villains soon!

These are really neat, I enjoyed looking at the Avengers figs, the Black widow and Hawkeye came out nicely!
