Battle theme at BrickCon 2012

Post by SEdmison »

Hey gang!
This year BrickCon is going to sponsor a Battle theme that pulls together battles from different periods. It could include the Norman conquest, to the Battle of the Bulge, to Master Chief versus the Covenant. It could be as up-close-and-personal as Robin Hood duelling with Sir Guy of Gisbourne or as sprawling as the 300 Spartans versus the Persian army at Thermopylae.

So where do you come in?

Well, if you're planning to attend BrickCon this year, and you can stage a battle, the Battle theme is the place for your creation. Haven't you always wanted to stage a massive battle between the factions in your collection? Isn't it time for the Black Falcons and the Crusader Knights to throw down? Crownies versus Dragon Knights? Or maybe you want to go more historical and have Egyptians battling Hittites, or Romans versus barbarians? Maybe you want to channel a Hollywood fantasy director and have some orcs assaulting unsuspecting elves and humans!

I've seen some of the great creations made by the Classic-Castle community, so if you're interested in turning your talents toward the art of war, contact me with the size of your MOC so I can plan room for it.

Hope to see you at BrickCon next month!

Really wish I didn't use all my baseplates/bricks/good pieces for landscaping on my section of the castle display, cause I would totally be in. Though I will probably have some battling going on, anyways.

It's not what you say it's how you say it.

Do you have an idea for a battle scene? Maybe we could work something out. I have several baseplates I can bring, and I might even be able to find time to cover them into some sort of makeshift backdrop. It wouldn't be as nice as a fully planned diorama, but it might be fun anyway.

If you want to rebuild and make your Castle section smaller, that would be fine. I imagined you building a Blacktron battle of some sort. ;)

Is Battle Theme going to have a dedicated area?

My big castle scene will have some sort of battle, I probably won't know what it will actually look like until I'm set up, but there definitely will be some sort of battle action.

But I think overall, my scene belongs in the Castle theme area.

Yes, it is, since it is a theme for battles from all ages and genres. I'm rather looking forward to it.

But, yeah, your section definitely is needed in Castle. ;)
