Hylian Shield by Remi Gagne

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

Remi Gagne (who you remember as one of the creators of the Last March of the Ents, among other MOCs) made this life-size Hylian Shield from the Legend of Zelda series. Those of you headed to BrickCon will see it in person this weekend.

Dang. The whole thing is amazing, with the shaping and the patterns. I find the fact that he included the buckles and grip on the back just plain awesome though.

I agree. It was really the detail on the backside that made this MOC for me. Another thing I should have pointed out in my first post is all of the cool NPU in the red and dark gray decor on the front of the shield. Follow the link to see this at full size to see all of the various elements he uses.

Wow! Now THERE'S something you don't see every day! The 'greebling' for the shield design is incredible. Would love to see this in person, but just a few thousand miles away...
Less talking, more MOCing.

The detail work on the shield is beyond amazing. Anyone that ever says any Lego element is too specialized and cannot be used in any alternate builds just needs to take a look at this! It's almost a fun "find the hidden objects" challenge to try and identify all the different pieces that have been used in this. Baby dinosaur, dancers fan, crowbar, hotdog, horse's dragon helm, etc....

I didn't think to look at the back of this when I saw it at BrickCon. The buckle and grip on the back makes it that much cooler!
