~The lands of Fu Bai~

Now that BSR is (FINALLY after 2+ years!!) finishing up, with only the last chapter to go, I can FINALLY start my comic.... Fu Bai!

Of course, NO story announcement would be complete without a map, and so I have made one.

Call me a sucker for all things map-related... or just bored with Photoshop. heh heh.

I'll be developing the formal pages and comics starting this month - should finish BSR this week~

Fu Bai: The Sands of the Red Dragon

NOTE: One possible issue, which I have to confess is a bit embarrassing for a Mod to talk about... this story will be a mixture of Lego figs and Oxford Clone figs, mostly because my beloved Lego sets are back in the US while I am here in China, and the Lego here is... well, let's just call it "marked up"

This is why the lands are called "Fu Bai" - it means "rotten" or "corrupt" in Chinese. Which is what I think the custom taxes may be here on Lego, and the motive for clones as well.

Chapter one of the comic is complete!

Looking back, I have to say that I find making comics to be QUITE fun!

But it can be VERY hard too... because you can't cut corners! When I wrote stories like The Tomes of Chiron and the Black Scroll of Ragnok, I could write the hard scenes, and show pics of the easier stuff.

But here... everything needs a picture!

NOTE!!! There is no fighting or killing in this first chapter... go easy on me! I need to set up some kind of plot first!

Chapter two is well underway, with the pictures taken. I'm having a bit of trouble because there is a night scene, and I have no idea how to make a picture look "night".

But I'll keep the thread updated! It's quite fun to be writing a comic!

I had some fun with ninja attacks at night and a desert ambush, but I probably could have spent a bit more time photoshopping the pictures... someday when I get that book deal I'll consider it!

I may be dragging up an old post, but now LCC has moved, I can see the trees for the wood.

Though not massively keen on the use of Oxford figures (though I guess you have to work with what you've got, and one of my best/favourite custom figures has a Oxford helmet) I LOVE the yellow hat (custom? or Oxford) and the back sheath for 3 swords!
