LEGO Adventure Book, Volume 1

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

The LEGO Adventure Book, Volume 1 will be shipping out next week from NoStarch Press. This book was edited by Megan Rothrock, and includes models from a great lineup of AFOLs, several of whom are CC members. NoStarch has an ongoing 40% off promotion on all of their LEGO books (including things like the Cult of LEGO and the Unofficial LEGO Builders Guide) if you order before October 31.

I'm waiting to get my copy, but from what I've seen this includes great original models in all sorts of themes, both official and fan-created things like steampunk, including of course castle. This Flickr group includes various page views and pictures of models that people built for this project.

Note, btw, that this is 'volume 1', indicating that we can expect more of the same to come.

Indeed, I've been told that there will be sequels. I'm eagerly (impatiently) awaiting my copy. My primary model is Friends, and not Castle, but some of my Castle-y stuff will be at the end of my chapter, such as the courtyard which was posted here awhile back. And also a squished hedgehog. Because every book needs a squished hedgehog. ;-)

I was planning on getting a copy but now it has shot to the top of my list...because everyone needs a book with a squished hedgehog.

AFOL and his money are easily parted.

But of course!

Of course, if I had known that the squished hedgehog was going to be in the book, I would have built it a better model. But it was a rush job for a contest. I guess the book really needed a squished hedgehog, though. ;-)
