On a semi-related note, clicking on the "Classic-Castle" banner on the forum now takes you to the CC front page instead of the forum overview. Is that intentional? If so, I don't care for it.

I am glad to see it is like that again, I was disapointed when it was changed some time ago.

I always use it as a fast link to get back to the home page instead of hitting the "board index" button. If it's like this to stay, I suppose I can get used to it. It just sucks now because I keep going back to the front page when I click the banner out of habit.

Same thing here, I have too been use to clicking it to go back to board index. Oh well, suppose it is what everyone is used to.

For years, when you clicked the large CC logo on to go the Forums, it would simply redirect you to the main forum page. It now (finally) redirects you to the Home page! It was a very minor problem, but an annoying one, for me at least. Thank you Admins!!

Hey all,

As has been noticed, I've been tweaking forum settings. After the forum crashed a year or so ago, some aspects of the forum layout got messed up. I'm trying to put them back in order.

I guess there are widely varying opinions on the top banner link. My main reasoning is that there are already two ways to link to the main forum page from any sub-forum page: you can either click on 'Board index' or on 'The source for all your LEGO Castle needs'. OTOH, since the crash there has been no link to the front page, which I think has led to many fewer people reading the front page.

Probably the much more significant tweak is the return of the 'advanced search' link in the upper right. That's the one that's been really bugging me.

Having the banner link to the front page will definitely cause me to go back there more often. I just need to get used to the change, I guess.

I, for one, am happy to see that the banner leads back to the front page again - I was a bit irritated when that linkage went away.

Yeah, I split out some posts from the 'Black and White' thread and combined them with Frisky's 'Thank you Admins' thread. I tried to re-title the thread as 'forum tweaks' to be neutral, since not everyone was happy about the change, but for some reason that title isn't showing up on the main forum page.

Is there another tweak that has disabled email notification of new PMs? I've noticed in the last few days that I haven't been receiving email notifications like I was before.

If no change, where do I go to update that setting? I can't find it anywhere in the UCP.
