I'm actually looking forward to these sets. I have seen pics of the rest of the sets on another site and the figures that appeared on Ebay. Although some of the sets look strange the figures are great.
Of the figures the Lion characters look the most cartoony. The Wolves look cool especially the one with the scars across his eye. The crocodile faction has some good castle Lizardmen possibilities. The eagles could be good for customising and the ravens look awesome.
The Raven and Eagle characters wear a helmet with the beak over the top of a traditional Lego head. From the blurry pics it seems that all of the characters are wearing armour or loin cloths, theres no high tech or robot printing which means it should be pretty easy to convert them into castle figs. The new wing pieces look great, I can picture winged knights :D :D

I don't know about these. They remind me very strongly of TMNT, of which I am not fond. I suppose I can make a decision once I see the actual product, but I don't feel the pull to these.

Do you have any links you could share? :)

EDIT:

I did a Google image search and found this overview. I think some of the Raven parts might be cool to mix in with Black Falcons to make some sort of elite berserker units

Also, the new wing pieces are awesome and I can't wait to get some in both white and black.
The more I learn about this line, the more excited I am for castle possibilities, even if I only end up buying certian things off of BL. :)

Here is a link to a couple of the figures that have turned up on eBay. The auction has ended but you can see the great details on the minifigs. [even though he missed a couple of parts that hold the wings in the proper position] :D

$100 is alot of money to pay for 3 figures that will probably be everywhere in 2 months.

Holy moley, that is crazy! It was at $0.99 when I saw that item yesterday with 7 hrs before the auction ended. Some people will do anything to get something "first", I guess.

It looks to me like all of the "animal heads" are actually "helmets" that fit over a standard minifig head, meaning that we are going to get some really interesting heads from this line, in addition to the "animal helmets"

Umm......armor looks cool? Aside from a couple interesting minifigures, I'm pretty disappointed with this. They could've done a really cool line up with the same concept but, no, they went down the Ninjago path. :?

I agree, I am not every impressed with these other than maybe some interesting drafts. A couple of the animal heads look good.

Based on the story of the line, it looks like the "chi" of Chima is really qi (气).

The part I really like: a rough translation of the line (Chima) would "Got Qi?" :tasty:

The Legend of Chima sets are getting a castle. 70011-1: Eagle's Castle.

There are no pictures of this set yet but going by the Chima cartoon teaser there is a pretty nice looking fortress that the Lions live in.

These sets have just all hit the UK and I must admit I am very impressed with them along with the monster fighters series. There are no many unique characters that can be used in a castle theme and would add a lot. When I get some money I must buy some ASAP

Yes! I can finally do Flash Gordon with LEGO!

In all seriousness, I hope they release minifigure packs. I do not want any of the sets, but I really like the bird people and some of the others.

I personally think that the Chima minifigures are awesome!

The Wolves, Lions, Ravens, Crocs and Eagles... Just look at their rather Ancient/Medieval looking outfits! Take them and perhaps some Ninjago "army-ables" along with LOTR/Hobbit can make some interesting Fantasy Castle Factions...

Just imagine:

Brave kingdoms of:
Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Lions, Eagles
-VS-
Massive hordes of:
Orcs, Wolves, Ravens, Crocodiles, Skeletons, Stone Warriors, Serpents
Peoples_General, master of the vast LEGO armies!

I think they're awful and the minifigs look tacky.

I know i'm not in the target audience for the theme, so there is that to consider, but as an adult builder there's nothing here for me.
