CCCX - Clacasconex

Trash talk is strongly encouraged.
Bruce NH - page 4 - Classic Castle Contest 10

One year ago, I decided to stay away from the CCC for a few reasons. Contests are not really my thing and I was focusing on other projects within the hobby. Then I saw the result and a fire burned within me  What's done is done, and after my fire cooled, I realized there was no point in giving it anymore thought. The fire cooled down and I went back to my other projects, mostly involving BrickForge. Then came November, and I felt the same as I had the year prior. "Contests are not really my thing". However, I was reminded about how the face of customizing had been changing in the past few years and there was a much more important message than a contest. So much excellence from 3rd party vendors (BrickForge being the undisputed top of the list) had been introduced to the masses, that the young guys and girls are forgetting exactly what the essence of a custom figure really is. Anyone can slap on a 3rd party item (and make an awesome looking minifig), or go through the motions and use one little alteration, but customizing excellence involves quite a bit of effort and work.

I give to you all ClaCasConeX. He is the bringer of doom. For those that enter before him know their fate is sealed, and those that enter after do so without hope.

Whoa, that's one of the most advance looking Customs I've ever seen. Looks pretty complicated.

This customization just shows how good customizing has become and exactly what customizing is. Everything there is edited, modified or built to make it look exactly like QB wanted it to look. It doesn't come from pre-existing parts that someone just put together into a new fig design. It doesn't consist of 3rd party product. A ton of thought and work went into this build. Just look at the horns, they have the most perfect look for a horn, which includes the coloration at the ends. And that is just one part to discuss. I am ever so glad QB built and showed off his skills.

Any building, is good building. Build for the fun of it!

Thanks for the comments. I am really proud of this figure. I wish he were playable, but this category is all about skill and not playability. The good news is that I can fashion a similar one using 3rd party items for playing with.
