The Yellowship of the Ring

Post by dyntar »

I don't know if you would strictly call this a MOC. But it's my current project.
Basically I wasn't happy with the fleshie faces on the Lord Of the Rings figures. They didn't fit in with any of my castle sets. So I have been recreating the characters in their closest approximate yellow skinned counterparts.
Its a work in progress as I've just got some Hobbit sets and they are getting a yellow makeover aswell.

But heres the figures so far.. I'm no photographer. :D

My Elf army including some CM figures. I tried to get the yellow faces to have the same expressions as their fleshie faces. And a bit of yellow Sharpie has improved them lol

The first of the Hobbit dwarf conversions.

I prefer them as Yellows :D

I'm stuck as to what head to use for Dwalin. He's the bald dwarf from the hobbit with battle scars and tattoos on his head. Anyone got a suggestion as to which yellow head would suit him??

Great changes! Excuse my asking but what head did you use for Boromir? It looks familiar but I just can't wrap my mind around what set or Minifigure Pack it came in.

Boromirs face is from the Collectible minifigure Forestman.
I had to look up that answer on Bricklink.. I had no idea where where I got that head from lol

Sometime you just find a head in your collection that is a great fit. :D

Excellent job, man! I too prefer to be a yellow purist. I was worried about the torsos with flesh necks exposed at the collar, but they seem to work well for what you've done. 8)

Okay, thank you. I was pretty sure that's where it came from but decided to check before I made myself look like a fool. :tasty:

Good job on these, you found great yellow heads for all of them.
You would rather be building right now.
