LCC Age of Empires 2 Game.

Post by Mark of Falworth »

Hey all,

if you haven't heard. Our last attempt at a LCC game ended without success.

But after after playing AOE 3 with blego7 for some time, we wanted to play Age of kings again.
So, blego7 scoured the internet looking for a solution, and he found one that really works!!

GameRanger.com

Download the free program and we'll be able to easily connect with other CCers and then we could have one Epic Game of AOE2! :D

Anybody interested? :)

Here's the list of CC GR folks
Mark the Great of LCC (I changed it to something more unique. ;) )

I will surely play, but I have version 1.0.6 on MAC, so you would have to download it. (Dures only a few minutes)
EDIT: My username is Buurli_Burri, I already played AOE2, AOE3 and Civ4 with this programm, it works perfect (if you're not playing with a guy from the himalayas, but USA to Switzerland connection works absolutely perfectly.)

Voobly is a far better gaming client to play on IMO. But if you need another player who has played for years then I will join Game Ranger and give it a go:)

Hey
Does anybody around here have a MAC and version 1.0.6? Sadly there's no 1.0.c update for MAC so I can't play with most of the Windows users .
Have a nice day!

Woah woah, why didn't I see this yet? That's awesome, great job finding this, Blake! Time to dust off the skills, I haven't really touched it since last time we tried here on CC. I assume we play the 1.0c patch?
Anyway, I'll download and try to find you guys immediately.
EDIT: Time zone is GMT+1 (CET), GR name is KnightofNiNi (I'll add whoever I can find).
Also, perhaps we should add a list of CC users on GR to the main post for newer players' sake?

Cool, We'll have to try to get a game started sometime! :)

Unfortunately for me my AOE2 CD is packed away. :twitch: (I'm moving soon) So you guys may have to arrange the first game without me. ;)

Hey guys, I just thought of a little bugfixing to post here, in case any of you experience the same problem: after installing AoE: the Conquerors and downloading the 1.0c patch, using any and all shortcuts just results in a 'Please insert correct CD' error for me. However, the game can still be run from the popup menu that comes when you re-insert the disc, opening a version that describes itself as having 1.0c. I have absolutely no idea why, but it works.
