I continue my participation in the Colossal Castle Contest 2012 (CCCX) with an adapted serie on Robin Hood, the film of Ridley Scott released in 2010.

First Part :
The Surroundings Of Châlus
In times of tyranny and injustice when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history.
England, at the turn of the 12th century was such a time.
King Richard the Lion Heart, bankrupt of wealth and glory, is plundering his way back to England after ten years on his Crusade.
In his army is an archer named Robin Longstride.
This is the story of his return home wheere, for defending the weak against the strong, he will be condemned to live outside the law.

Second Part :
The Siege Of Châlus
Chalus is the last French castle that English should sack before setting sail to England.
Returning from the hunt, Robin Longstride and his fellow archers are called to mount in line. The assault has begun, King Richard's leads, the aim being to get inside the castle.
A dozen young boys are then responsible to come hang some wineskins filled with explosives, on the portcullis of the castle.
Jimmy, Robin's young friend, unfortunately remains stuck on the harrow. Robin steals thus to his rescue.

Third Part :
Escape From Châlus
After the assault, the British managed to blow the castle gate, and they let her burn during the night.
King Richard goes to these soldiers with the intention to find an honest man in his army to tell him the truth he doesn't want to hear.
When he arrives, a fight erupts between Robin Longstride and Little John.
The King then is injured during the fight and Loxley, his henchman is kneeling troops.
Richard asks Robin if God will be satisfied with his crusade and the archer replied that this will not be entirely the case, because of the massacre of the city of Acre. (Richard had indeed ordered the death of 2000 Muslims.)
For his daring and trouble they caused during the evening, Robin and his companions are imprisoned.
In the morning, the battle resumed and Richard is killed by an arrow right in the neck.
Jimmy ran to Robin and tells him the news.
Robin asks him to liberate them, and he decides to go north to find a ship before hundreds of soldiers to do the same.

Fourth Part :
Ambush In Broceliande
Robin and his companions then crossed France, and they arrived in the forest of Broceliande. They are then witnesses to an ambush.
Indeed, after the death of Richard, Luxley and a handful of brave knights are responsible for reporting the crown in England What they don't know is that a plot is being prepared in France to overthrow the English crown.
The French are convinced that Richard is in the group of knight returning to England, but this is not the case.
The King of France, Philip Augustus load Godefroy, a English traitor, to kill the Lionheart and seize his crown.

Fifth Part :
Northern Coast Of France
After the attack, Robin tries to find a survivor.
Luxley still lives, he asks to Robin to take his sword and to return it to his father, in Nottingham. Robin accepts and Luxley dies in its feet.
On Luxley, Robin finds a small parchment on which is a route that allowing to find the boat for England. Robin has then an idea, to take the identity of Luxley, his clothes and to return the crown to return in England.
They are thus disguised as soldiers of the royal guarding, and have buried Luxley, whom our four companions are astride towards the Northern coasts of France. In their arrived a boat wait for them. They teach to the captain of the ship that king died and quickly embark.

This is a great series. I really like the castle and the boat. Placing all those trans-clear plates had to be a pain though--are they attached to anything? I can't tell...

I agree, I have loved this series too, you have a very eye catching way of building! The bases are always really neat, they are a unique way to frame a build.

You have done a great job on this series. I just love the tan castle. It has so many unique features.

I must say, I've been inspired by your plate-built bases and rugged realistic look that you're able to make. I love the textures and details that you fit and blend into the landscape and structures. Fantastic and brilliant work mate!
