CCCX Casileàn Bhaile Atha Troim
Dear all
Here's a castle I have been building since my holidays in Ireland (back in May... I'm a very slow builder) and incidentally finished for CCCX . It's inspired by Trim castle, a very large anglo-norman castle in county Meath.
In late 1330 after the downfall of the Mortimer, trusted men of the young king Edward the Third peacefully take over the forfeited castle.
As everyone knows, the Mortimer colours were green and gold (with a dragon) whereas those of the crown were gold and red
Complete set:

Hoping you do like it.
Cheers

I like the realistic approach to this castle. The angled sections look very good, and the landscape is also great.

Very nice castle! I particularly like the wooden hoardings.
Well done.

The landscape and the angled walls are top-notch.

I like this build. I'll second the earlier praise for the angled walls and rock work, but I especially like the little fortification protecting the entrance to the keep itself. Nice detail.

I think you have actually done Trim castle justice with this MOC. (I have visited it several times) It is a more condensed version you have built but it has all the features and also it has that touch of realism to it which I love. In particular I think the river next to the wall looks fantastic along with the keep (the wooden part of the keep is also a nice extra piece of detail you added on)

I like how clean this looks. We've seen a lot of super detailed, SNOT brick intensive walls this year--which look great--but the contrast you get between all the studs in the landscaping and the smooth walls looks really good. The wood sections and all the angles really polish this off.

I really shape of it, and the almost simple layout it has. The little added bits of coloring, angled walls and uneven landscape really makes it look fresh. Great work!

Pwhoar, that's quite the castle. My favourite bits are the rocky slopes.
