New Takeshi Itou work for 2013

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

One of (IMO) the best builders around, Takeshi Itou (aka Hachi on Brickshelf) has some great new MOCs. In January, he posted three great micro castles:

Just two days ago he posted Captain's Bar:

And according to his site he posted this last April, but it just showed up on the Brickshelf recent page, and it doesn't look like it's ever been shared on our forum, my favorite of this lot is his Canyon Castle:

Newer forum members who don't know Takeshi's work should be sure to check out his personal site, Castle Element. Most of his work can also be found in his Brickshelf gallery.

Thanks for posting this Bruce, I've seen a few of his builds by looking through the older topics in Castle MOCs, great to see he's still building :)

I love all of his MOCs. He can create a fairytale atmosphere. Part of his MOCs were created many years ago, but I still admire his castles, even nowadays are lots of adorable building techniques.
My favourite of his are observatory and prison.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing!

I enjoy that he uses a very traditional building style. Not a lot of fancy techniques or tile work, but it looks great and is very nostalgic.

Wow, microscale is what I really like! Not so many details there, but still al l the creations look pretty impressive.
When you post somebody else's MOC, I always think it's a pity that the author doesn't necessarily see our responses.
By the way, you should certainly fix the links. The first three is all the same site.

Thanks for posting this Bruce!
I have been looking around for his site and haven't been able to find it.
I would say that he has built some of my personal favourite creations ever.
Glad to know he's still building. :)

Wow! Love the captains bar. Not easy to make black look so good. All of it looks top notch, but that one really caught my eye.

I am normally hot and cold on microscale(probably because I fail at them :D ), but these are fantastic. I love his ships and his sail designs.

Those are some pretty sweet builds. I looked at one of the dates and thought, what was I doing in 2002? :tasty:
Anyway, I think he has a simple building style but it doesn't take away from the detail he's able to fit. I guess there wasn't as many colors and pieces to use...

Very cool. Thank you for sharing!
It's great to see someone who's been building for so long is still up and at it.
I must admit, his microscale builds are top-notch and that's something what doesn't come easy.
Though the majority of his building style sticks to a more basic level of detail, something about his builds are just amazing and quite inspiring! :)
Once again, thanks for sharing Bruce.

I showed some of his work to my wife and she immediately responded, "Oh these are from Zelda!". I then proceeded to google image Zelda to look for the inspiration, but not sure if I'm convinced yet...

Anyway, his work really brings back the classic era with an aesthetic that is truly inspiring. Now excuse me while I go dig out all my old sets and put them together.
