LCC GC3 - Navigating to the Dark Isle

Post by AK_Brickster »

Here is my entry to the "Lands of Classic Castle - Global Challenge III" in which we are supposed to show our character preparing for war which will occur on a island inhabited by all manner of magical and nasty things. My character's name is "Rayth Wulfsbayne", and he is a trapper and wilderness survival expert, so he has been asked to navigate the route to the island.

GC3 - Navigating to the Dark Isle

Though not particularly keen on participating in an attempt to conquer of the Isle of Lost Souls, Rayth's navigation services were quickly sought out once news of the invasion hit the northern lands. So Rayth loyally agreed and made his way to Grahnhaven along with a contingent of troops from Mikithdar. The Grahnhaven town garrison is helping to load the ship with supplies for the trip, and Jhirian Eindrik has come down from the capital to give some last-minute instruction to his captains before they set sail.

I built the majority of this in just a day, and had to take photos in a bit of a hurry, but I'm pretty happy with how the close-up shot turned out.

Special thanks to Dave Ingraham of "Cape Madness" for all of the capes and for letting me borrow one of his blue base plates! :)

Comments and Critiques welcome as always!

Very cool :tasty:
The wall in the back ground is great, very neat design with the windows on the second floor.
The back of the ship could use some work but I definitely understand the time constraints.
Great figs, dock, and supplies aboard the ship

I think you did a fantastic job and I love this ship, but personally I would never use so many brown tiles in a single moc. :D

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I added a few more pics to Flickr that show the details and figs, including a better view of the rock work (also in first post above), which in my opinion is some of the best I've ever done. :)

Yes, the rockwork is quite nice! I especially like the the addition of the trans-clear cheeses.
You would rather be building right now.
