Fall of The Ice Wizard - GC3 Phase 2 Entry

Post by Caelan »

Image

The sudden bone-chilling blast of ice hit Sir Caelan’s giant wooden shield like a tidal wave, almost knocking him over. The Ice Wizard’s incantation spilled over the shield’s edges and began to freeze everything, even the air around him. If it wasn’t for the wooden shield in front of him he would have been frozen instantly, just like their leaders had earlier been frozen solid. Even with the shield’s protection he began to shiver and lose focus…

To see if Sir Caelan survives the ice blast, and what happens in the battle, read further here.
............................
This is my first land battle scene ever. It was more challenging than I thought it would be, primarily because of the ice blast constantly shifting around!

Excellent! I love the little cliff the Ice Mage is holed up in. The frozen captains are a great touch, too. Great job! I just read the story on Flikr, too; excellent story. :D

Keep it cool

Great use of that crystal as the 'reflected magic' on the shield, and the mirkwood webs for 'frozen' soldiers.

Nice rockwork as well.

Wow! I am sure I am not saying anything that hasn't been said, but the rockwork, terrain and figs look fantastic. Love your spell effects also!

I am a slow builder myself so I feel your pain.

So many talented builders on this site!
