LCC - GC3 - Part 2 - Assault on Magma Fortress

Post by Eklund »

My entry for part two of Global Challenge 3 at Lands of Classic Castle.

Man, this was a quick and stressful build... those deadlines can really creep up!

Basic Story: After the forces of Roawia landed on the Island of Lost Souls, Leif and his band quickly found the entrance to the underground tunnels. They were able to use these to infiltrate Magma Fortress and lower the drawbridge so that the rest of the forces could get inside. Now they are finally pushing the last of the outlaws out.

Great work! Nice lava waves and the tunnel's really neat. :)

Love the gatehouse and the lava and tunnels are great details.
Excellent fig posing too, good luck in the voting :)

This entire MOC is fantastic. The massive wall (with an interior walkway!) and lava are standouts. How the admins are going to judge all these great MOCs I have no idea...

Very nicely done. The river of lava is my favorite part.

@Aeridian: Thanks, the tunnel was definitely a fun detail to try!

@Soccerkid6: Thanks, the fig posing was a little rushed, but I am glad you liked it. I especially liked the guy hanging from the ladder.

@Caelan: I am glad you like the wall, I was hoping it had enough detail. The interior walkway was definitely something I wanted to make. I needed it in order to incorporate a winch for the drawbridge, thought you can't really see that in the picture.

@LettuceBrick: Thank you, all of those trans-red tiles from the lego store definitely payed off I guess.

Again, thanks for the replies guys! Anymore thoughts?

A very unique take on the challenge, Eklund! I love the smoothness of the wall in comparison to the rocks below. The fig posing is also quite good (That bit where the dude is falling of the tower). Great entry over all!

@Friskywhiskers: Thanks man! I was definitely going for the contrast between the wall and the landscape, so I am glad it was noticed. And yes, that is my character, Leif, who jumped off the wall to surpise attack the outlaw on the horse below. I hope he will make it...

The build itself is amazing but the details you were able to incorporate really take the cake. Great job! :)
