Brick Injuries

Those of you who know me, know that I am more than a little accident prone. Those of you who don't...feel free to laugh at the following.

So as I'm sorting through my 200 pounds of unsorted LEGO...yes I know but I lack the motivation to sort it. I'd pay someone to, if I had the ready cash and the volunteer..but I digress. So I slip the parts I need into my pocket as I'm picking up the disaster it creates and promptly forgot I did...so add jab in the hips to the ever growing list of brick injuries I have suffered.

List:
stepped on a shark...LEGO fins CUT feet
countless broken nails
forget trying to keep a nice manicure and polish when you are building or sorting or tearing down
I got a blood blister under my thumb taking apart a long stack of 1x1 plates which popped and got blood all over the plates
Diagon Alley fell off its shelf and hit me in the head...I was dizzy for several minutes
paper cuts from opening boxes

I could go on and on...

So...with that in mind...any of you have some injuries to add?

I've bent back my fingernail a couple of times and I have the occasional small cut, but that's about it.

I managed to slice my thumb with my own fingernail. My finger slipped when I was tying to squeeze too tightly when pulling apart a couple of 1x plates. Took out a small chunk of skin.

No specific injuries here, but I should note that on a blog I read, the favorite curse among the commenters is "May you step on a LEGO."

Too many fingernails chipped, broken, malformed to count. Normally caused by me trying to pry plates apart.

One injury that was remarkably gruesome is when I tripped and fell on a fire truck bed (I don't remember what set it was, I'll try to BL it in a bit) and the hitch stabbed into my knee, breaking the skin and leaving a thick river of blood running down my leg by the time I noticed.

I've mostly had chipped fingernails. Also some sore fingers from extensive building. Other than that, not much.

So I said to my wide today that I've pulled the back of my legs from my modelling. She just laughed at me!

So its ironic that this topic is taking place right now. At least I know I will be taken seriously here.

As to how this has happened, I think its from standing and leaning over my table for too many hours in one go. Not really a injury from the brick just the hobby.

Slammed my face into the Fantasy Era's King's Castle. Directly on the top. Twice. In the same day.
Not a good day for me.

Lets see, I've fallen face first on several builds, bent and broken nails from prying apart plates, several small cuts from the edges of bricks, and a scar from failing onto a lego spear.

My teeth have really suffered as a result of missing my brick separator for around a month. I bite my nails, so no injuries in that regard, though it is always annoying to stop on the random lego piece.

Much the same as others, I've experienced my share of sore fingernails and teeth from prying elements apart, and of course the inevitable agony of stepping on a wayward brick. Also an occasional papercut from sliding my finger under the flap of a box as I opened a new set. Nothing serious though.

I'm waiting for Mark to own up to the blistered and bleeding fingertips he must have from building/disassembling/building at such ridiculous speeds. Not to mention the mental breakdowns from the accompanying endless sorting that such a lifestyle requires.

I've knelt down on countless pieces of lego in addition to the usual injuries. A guy in my lug had deep tissue damage to his foot from stepping on a Buzz Lightyear minifig.

I've been lucky so far and has only experienced the occasional stepping on a brick and multiple cases of sore, torn fingers after picking apart small plates.

Just the standard sore fingers for me, my younger brother, however, once sat on one of my castles and suffered a sore rear end (the castle suffered only minor damage)
