ECCC - Hobbiton

Post by Fraslund »

Greetings everyone!

This is my section of the collab SeaLug Hobbiton display. I will post pics of the full thing once its put together. I can't wait to see what everyone else put together. I was a bit rushed, but I am happy with how it turned out.

Wow, for being rushed you really pulled through and did a superb job! Love all the vegetation and colors and the great tree on the top is amazingly done. :)

Of all the MOCs I've seen set in the shire , this one is easily my favorite. Everything is so detailed, and the size is a bonus.

Lovely scene, the two levels add a ton and I love the path up the hill, trees, and fields :)

Awesome build! The plants hanging down over the edge are just phenomenal!
You would rather be building right now.

Great detailed build, a bit too colourful compared to anything I have seen in any image of Hobbiton though

I can definetly see that. For me it was a design decision. With the bricks I have, I wasn't liking how plain green it was and I didn't have enough dark green plants to contrast and accent the lighter green. A lot of mocs I have seen in the past (shire) just wash out with so much of the same color and I like to use color to accent details.

Also I used dozens of reference pictures and I found a few that did have some flowers that had that overhang effect and really liked it:
