They actually did this in 2008 in conjunction with the soon-forgotten movie version.

LEGO CHiPs FTW!

If they hadn't recently made two new movie versions, I'd suggest Planet of the Apes. Get your hands off me you Megabloks dirty Ape!

We just rented Wreck-it Ralph, and one thing that surprised me was all of the references to video games from the eighties. Maybe LEGO should go that way - LEGO Donkey Kong, Pac Man, etc.

Glad I wasn't the only one that thought that!

Care Bears?

I'd never say this one is irrelevant but I don't know that the youth of today would get into it as much as some of us would but I'd love to see an Asterix theme!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel lines? Okay, they're not really scary, but at least they don't sparkle.

The Terminator! This actually isn't too irrelevant though, because I think there's at least one more movie coming.

I believe a clone brand has this license already. But hey, adding to the list is good. I still would like to see a Bond license, although I highly doubt that would ever come to life. Mmmm LEGO built Ashton Martin.

While certainly irrelevant, I would certainly enjoy those lines greatly. :D

Great ideas for irrelevent licenses, I would think TLG would find many great themes here to make an "reborn" :D
Seriously, I know someone here mentioned He-man here but hey The Masters of the Universe is a total win win license idea to make, TLG if you make The Turtles and the Simpsons, the you gotta make The Masters of the universe also... and Shera for the girls, an Friends like theme :roflol:

Speaking of which, I just have to add The Lost Boys (first movie of course) to this discussion. Its irrelevance would only be matched by the awesomeness! We'd get lovely pale bikers with funky sunglasses and 80s haircuts (!), murky caves, vampire hunter trucks, an amusement park even and weird kids with even weirder vampire hunting accessories..

Definitely, I don't see myself purchasing any of The Simpsons sets :? well, that's my thought at the moment.

Regardless of the present LOTR license, He-Man would be a nice addition to the Castle theme. GI Joe and James Bond would be another nice ones and my votes are for the TV series Gundam (as a competitor versus the Transformers theme) and Aliens (or Starcraft, but I doubt these be considered because the Star Wars license is still on... well, who knows). Any of these as a license or as Cuusoo sets.

Also, I hope TLG release soon more Marvel and DC new characters.

I think we can expect to see more Marvel with the release of the upcoming LEGO Marvel game in October.

Lets have 'em do thor. Just thor, maybe the dark world too if its any good. Norse gods

Mmm well lets see... Of course a forestmen relapse would be nice, but I would really love a Robin Hood license all the same... (The adventures of or prince of thieves... Men in tights maybe? 8) )

Eh, Camelot?

(Side note to some post I saw above: Disney shouldn't really count as an irrelevant license, they have Pirates of the Caribbean, the Lone Ranger...)

Mm... Looney toons perhaps. Not much else I can think of now...

Robotech/Macross is good stuff for some of us.

Also from late 80's and early 90's that cartoon called Thundercats, that recently was re-released, just the same like the TMNT tv series. Thundercats could works because will introduce minifigs, vehicles, weapons and locations.

The muppets and sesame street would be nice for kiddos and some of us :) TLG needs a theme to counter Dora the explorer theme.

By the way, I always have been wondering why TLG has not introduced an Arthuric castle theme, because it is from public domain, the same with robin hood in these days, also to bring some forestmen into the scene.

I've seen some episodes of the new Thundercats and I liked it, but with Chima out, having the Lions and a sci-fi/fantasy/mech-esque mix it'd nearly be the same thing.

I agree about the old castle themes, they should revamp them, spice it up a bit and release something like Dark Forest/Forestmen/peasanty-sets... who knows? They'd probably sell better than the Castle line out now. :tasty:
