The New Knights series 9 getting them Army ready

Post by caleb282 »

So I was just wondering what you all thought of these and how to make them more army based with rank and how i did so far. http://www.flickr.com/photos/92214962@N ... 775017741/

I'd been wondering about this myself. I made a little group of the series 7 Evil Knight, and had been hoping to do the same with the heroic knight.

To me the problem is the Heroic Knights visored helm. I don't mind it for a leader, but I wouldn't want a block of knights all wearing them. Before series 9 was released I read a rumour that the knight would have a silver version of the Evil knights helm, which would have been a nice piece in a new colour, and looked pretty cool as a group I think.

Mark of Falworth sprayed one for his CCCX entry

The heroic knight's current helm is light bluish grey, but there aren't many other helms in that colour, not that look suitably epic anyway. I'd be open to using a custom helm, so I have thought about spraying/painting one silver like Mark did, or even a 3rd party helm.

My suggestions would basically be to keep colours similar, switch some faces and add capes, weapons etc. Much of which you've already done :D

yeah that sounds pretty good im thinking of using colors like getting gold paint an adding it to parts of the helmet and to the main body. ill have to to that to some and put the picture up after i do it i painted the series 6 Minotaur to change them up a have there own look and individuality. heres some pictures of them http://www.flickr.com/photos/92214962@N05/ let me know what you think of them an other stuff i should add to them.

I was going to differentiate them with hair as they won't be wearing helms unless on the battle field.

I didn't realise that this was the case until I had a bunch turn up. I'm going to swap the bley out for silver ones.

I reckon those paladins look the goods. It sounds so Song of Fire and Ice but mine shall be donning white cloaks.

I want to get a gold cloak for this dude's armour but I've not really looked into what's available.

Remember guys that the LCC program is sponsored by Dave over at Cape Madness. He'll sell you custom cloaks that are 100% as good (if not better) as official LEGO cloaks/capes at a FRACTION of the cost!

If you don't see what you want, just send him a message. He almost always has a bunch of stuff in stock that is not inventoried in his store yet.

I've been on the verge of ordering some through him over the last week (having a newborn slows a lot of things down hahaha). Hadn't realised that he's sponsored LCC, good to know.

Well, I'm glad I hit him up about a few ideas as it has prompted him to finalise a few items that he'd been looking at which I happened to be after. Mind you, I think I've blown my purchase limit for the month :twitch:

This is going to sound like a sales pitch but check out a couple of these;

Metallic silver cape for your CMF Heroic Knight?
Metallic gold cape for your Gold Knight

Plus a bunch of other metallic colours which can be found in the (Not Applicable) colour in his store.

I saw this one in person at our SEALUG meeting on Saturday, and I have to say that it is indeed as awesome as the picture shows. I'll definitely be scooping up several of these for my CMF9 knights!

Nice one. I have a few in the mail so have to be patient. Dave was pretty patient and great to deal with.
