cleaning up the stickies
Hey guys,
I'm still in the middle of transporting things over, but one additional thing I wanted to do was cut down a bit on the number of 'stickied' topics. Could those of you involved in the LCC, particularly the organizers, give me some input on what threads really need to be stickied? It looks to me like we should have about six:
-An intro post at the top of the forum, with some general forum guidelines and also pointers key threads in the LCC. I will, eventually, finish putting together a separate LCC page that will house a FAQ and links to the key threads and the different challenges, but that's still in the works.
-the main threads for each of the four factions
-the guild hall thread
Does that seem reasonable? At the top of the 'character introduction challenge' thread, Wobnam writes that it is obsolete, so I'm assuming that can be unstuck. I'm suggesting that the 'sign-up', 'FAQ' and the 'LCC discussion' thread could all be unstuck, but would remain linked in the intro post at the top of the forum. I'd like some feedback from some active LCCers - perhaps the leaders of the different factions- on this arrangement before I move things around too much more.

Re: cleaning up the stickies
That is a good idea, Bruce. If we had a "MAIN LCC INFO" post, with links to the various sub threads (FAQ, Discussion, and even sign-ups) so that they don't get lost, that seems like it would work just fine. Heck, you could even do one "LANDS OF CLASSIC CASTLE" thread that could just be a 'table of contents', locked with links to each faction, the guild hall, and General Info, FAQ, Discussion, and sign up threads and un-sticky the rest. That way if any one faction or topic bumps down too far, it can easily be retrieved through the main LCC TOC page. That would let you have only ONE stickied thread!
Also, you're correct that Wobnam's CIC thread can be un-stuck. We've combined it with the sign-up thread, since just about everyone posts their CIC's when they sign up anyway.
What do my fellow LCCers think? would that work for you?

Sounds great AK - perhaps after it is set-up it could be locked so that random junk does not make it into the thread?

I'm all for that.
Or even if you had a "sub forum" to store all the LCC topics, kind of like eurobricks.com has for "Guilds of Historia"

Re: cleaning up the stickies
Okay, thanks for the feedback. I'll put together an intro post full of links, and will make that the one stickied post.

That seems pretty solid, Bruce. It may take people a bit of getting used to, but I think it will keep things a lot more organized in the long run.
