Swamp Journey Vig

Post by Quickblade22 »

I wanted to try building something a little smaller with detail and drew inspiration from a book cover I read as a teen. I built this over a month ago but was unhappy with the lighting. I love the Alt Bricks leaves in different colors along with their "weed" part. A fellow CCer's recent MOCs inspired me to make this little scene using a decorated "trim". Enjoy.

Nice! There is a lot of detail packed into that small MOC and I like your unique boarder "trim". Aren't those Alt Bricks awesome? I picked some up myself when I was at BrickCon. :D

Thanks for the comments. I really wish the photo quality would have been better. It looks way better in person. The Alt Bricks leaves are excellent and the color options are something I've wanted for a long time. That particular color in that shot is Sage. I used the round 1 x 1 trans green plates because I didn't have the regular plates or tiles. What ended up happening is that I was able to arrange the carrot tops and Alt Bricks weeds so that they were either wedged in between (the carrot tops) or laying loosely at an angle (alt Bricks weeds) with the round 1 x 1 plates. The border trim was just something I thought up by seeing the bamboo leaves arranged SNOT styled from an official set and I was inspired by Brother Steven's work on Flickr.

Great little scene! I can definitely tell this was inspired my Brother Steven's work.
The use of Alt Bricks is excellent, you've put them to justice. Love the "swampy" looking bordor. Well done! :)

You really nailed the feel of a swamp, the 1x1 rounds work well and give a nice texture.
Cool tree as well :)
