My biggest creation so far...

Post by PsychoPixie »

So, it took a week. When you have a 4 yr and a 2 yr old "helping" it takes a bit longer. Theres a drawbridge, and a big tree, and a wizard summoning or fighting a purple seaserpent *sortof, the serpent needs work* Then to the right of the castle is a small "field" with a fight going on. My daughter loves to wake up in the morning to a new lego scene. This castle was definately her favorite so far!

I hope the images load corectly.

I like the tan color scheme you've got going on, and your fig posing is really dynamic. You also have incorporated some nice techniques, such as the serpent design and the SNOT brown tiles at the top of the tower (SNOT = Studs Not On Top). I can't wait to see what else you come up with as your skills and collection grow!

Keep up the good work

Thank you! I think the serpent definatly has promise and am going to fiddle with it a bunch more.

I really just love the tan bricks, I don't know why, but to me, they are just so pretty when used for primary castle pieces. They look good with the brown or dark grey accents. I want to have a huge tub of tan brick someday! lol For now, a shoebox full will have to do!

Nice build, I like the big fight scene in the field and you might wanna warn the wizard of the swamp guy underneath him. :orc:

I like builds that overlook water. This is pretty cool.

I think i just realized my problem... I want to go big. lol

For me, I need enough lego's to make these castles realistic. The need fully furnished rooms and multiple staircases. A castle should have a great hall, anda dungeon and bedrooms and a scullery ajoining a kitchen. Plus a stable building nearby. so yeah... i see a really huge 4+ baseplate castle in my future.

so to get the details figured, i should start doing small one room "feature" builds so that I can learn to focus on each section and get it right.

I have a long road ahead of me.

Ah.. I remembered doing stuff like this ages ago and I was desperate for a digital camera.
Now that I have a big digital camera I can't seem to recall the last time doing stuff like this

Seemed like mighty fun you had there, perhaps on your next trial you can work on your focus so to speak, a clear sharp picture tends to get your idea across better.

Tips: Either try a tripod -or- take a lots and lots of pictures for a single frame and get the sharpest one. I used to take like 8-10 shots for a single shot on all my work when working with my old digital camera. :)
