This incredible builder is deaf and blind, and builds these incredible structures. The video was posted in 2010, and I'm curious to see what else he has made. This is really cool, guys!
Hey guys, check this out!

Can anyone give a translation of what's being said? I'd be interested to know what's being said in regards to where he gets the ideas or how he knows what gothic architecture 'looks' like.

Do you think he uses all yellow because it's the least expensive or something? I too, would be interested in an interpretation.
Re: Hey guys, check this out!
Translation, had to look some stuff up, my German is rusty and so is my English grammar, so don't burn me
Person to the left (Pttl):
Hi !
Next to me sits Georg
Georg (G):
He's right, my name is Georg
(Pttl):
Georg is deaf and blind.
I'd like to ask him when he lost his vision.
Georg, from when on did your vision deteriorate ?
(G):
I was born deaf. I grew up and went to school. When puberty set in, my vision became worse. I was turning blind. My vision became even worse over time. When I was 30, all I could see was a spot. Through this 2 degrees large hole, I could see, as if I was looking through a tunnel. I worked as a engineer, making technical drawings until my 40th. Then It all became too much, and I didn't want it anymore. I stopped working and went into retirement.
I got bored. I deliberated what to do and then the idea of finding me a hobby sprung to mind.
Look around, since then I build with lego-bricks.
(Pttl):
I'd like to ask Georg when he came up with this hobby.
Georg, when did you start with your hobby ?
(G):
When I was just a kid, I allready played with lego allot. Back then I used to build such creations. I was always very happy when I created something.
Later on at deafschool, other stuff became more important.
I put aside the lego and had to learn for school.
That continued and I started working as engineer.
It was when I retired and got bored, I started to remember how I played with lego as a kid. I took the lego-bricks from the corner and was glad I had something to do again.
(Pttl):
Now I am interested how many creations Georg allready made.
How many creations did you make so far ?
(G):
2003 I made the first real big building. It was a castle.
The castle had a tower with crenelations and a courtyard around that.
When I finished that I put it aside and build something else. It was a big house with doors that shut.
After that I build a building with a dome. The dome had a little tower ontop of it. I took down the dome and from those bricks constructed Doge's Palace (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doge%27s_Palace,_Venice) after the example in Venice.
It looked so great. I'll show you some photos of my buildings.
2003 - Castle
2004 - Dome
2005 - Doge's Palace
2007 - Rialto
2009 - Gothic monastry with wellhouse.
(Pttl):
Now I'll ask Georg how many different bricks there are.
Georg, how many bricks are there in total ?
(G):
1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, there are many different shapes.
In total there are 29 different shaped bricks which I use all together.
(Pttl):
If Georg pays for the bricks himself or if they are being financed ?
Georg, do you have to pay for everything yourself ?
Or are you getting financial aid ?
(G):
Back when I used to work, my doctor told me I would loose my sight.
I then thought, what I could do in the future.
I now knew what was going to happen and I started saving up money.
I saved up until I retired and was able to buy all the lego bricks later on.
(Pttl):
That's interesting.
I'm going to say goodbye now.
I wish you allot of fun building and in the future allot of succes building with you lego bricks.
Bye
(G):
Bye
