This idea stemmed from a discussion on another forum as to the possibility of modding the new Lone Ranger carriage from 2 horses to 4. The suggestion also arose for 7188 King's Carriage so I thought I'd give this a try.

Ideally it would have four matching horses, but I think I hid that well.

That's not bad at all!
To slim down the yoke between the pairs of ponies, you could use this clip:
and one of these plates
That would be basically identical to your setup, but 1 plate wide instead of two.

Re: 7188 King's Carriage Mod
Thanks! I basically replicated the set-up from the original pair and moved it two the front horses.
Never seen this piece before
and having looked on bricklink I see it's only in 3 just released sets.
Hopefully it will crop up in some more sets (and in black) and I can snag a few. Alternatively I could split the 2 stud wide set up into two one stud wide 'bars'. I might break up the bulk a bit.
Having played around with this it quite makes me want to do a colour change and see what horses could be used (eg a pair of the grey printed MVR ones or even PoP ones).
