Identifying Collectible Minifigures Series 9

Post by royalbrickcustoms »

Hey guys,

Yesterday when I went on my CMF hunt, I found that the Target close to me had a rack full of Series 9 figs, but not Series 10. So my question is, are there any guides for successfully "feeling" for the Series 9 minifigs, specifically the Forest Maiden, Heroic Knight and Roman Emporer?

Any information on how to successfully identify the figs listed above, as well as others in the Series 9, would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance,

I don't recall of any offhand but the way I approach CMF Series is I look at the hair/accessories or any other distinctive parts. Things like the 'Skirt' brick or Mermaid's legs can narrow it down.

So the clues I'd look at are:

Waiter, tray/bottle.
Cyclops, head/club.
Hollywood Starlet, statue/skirt brick.
Heroic Knight, armor/shield/helm/sword.
Roman Emperor, 2x2 tile.
Policeman, handcuffs/hat.
Chicken Suit Guy, arms/chickehead.
Roller Derby Girl, helm/skates.
Fortune Teller, 1x2 tile/skirt brick.
Judge, gavel/wig.
Alien Avenger, armor/blaster/helmet.
Mermaid, legs(tail).
Battle Mech, armor/helmet.
Mr. Good and Evil, tophat/flask.
Forest Maiden, shield/box/skirt brick.
Plumper, plunger/baseball cap.

Series 9 does have 3 different 'figs with skirt bricks but the other accessories that come with each 'fig allow you to figure them out fairly quickly,

All you need to do is analyze which parts are only in one,two or three different 'figs parts list. What I tend to do is carry one of the inserts after I acquire one so I can refresh my memory if required in regards to which 'fig comes with what.
Build? I merely Acquire atm.

It is the same advice as for series 10...find unique parts and feel for them with the insert. I'm not sure why you needed another thread for this, but sure it is the same advice.

I hadn't gotten to his other thread before I replied or I would have refrained from posting above seeing as he had gotten advice valid for all CMF series in the other thread.

One thing to keep in mind with those is that the forest maiden has kind of rubbery hair.

Also, there's a guy on Eurobricks who had done extensive reviews on each series. Here is his review of series 9. He always has lots of close-up photos of all of the contents, so you can have a good idea of what you're feeling for.
