LCC - Loreos (VIG) - On the march again

Post by Pedro Ivo »

Hello everyone! I would like to share with you my latest vignette:

I tried to create a "dune terrain" and I think the result was fine, but not excellent. Any suggestion?

Hope you like it!
C&C are vey welcome! :D

I think it works, though it does have a step feeling to it. You could use the angle clips from the new hobbit sets to make slanted hills or tan cheese slopes would work. Nice vig! The fig positions really give a sense of movement - they're not all "blockily" facing the same direction.

Honestly I really like the rough look to it. The layering and positioning of the minifigs makes it great! :)

Very nice. If you are going for dunes, you might want to make the difference in terrain height more pronounced.

Great positioning. I actually like the dunes.

I agree with the comments about the fig positioning for sure, well done.

I think softening the corners of each layer by actually using those 4x4 rounded corner plates as the corner pieces would go a long way to creating a smoother effect which may make people think more "dunes" than "random desert". Maybe drop some of the 1x2's to clean it up further? The ground looks a bit cluttered in my opinion to be the windswept landscape that a dune sea is. Also, tiles might help, especially if you use them strategically to create footprints in the sand behind the figs/horses. Just my thoughts, I've not tried or seen dunes in LEGO...

As others have said the figs and their positioning are great! I like the little rock and scorpion too.
I agree with those who said you could make the dunes a bit smoother though. Here's a pic of the best dunes I've seen:
