I shall await someone abit more tech-savvy then thanks anyways man^^ just my luck as i just got my camera and was looking forward to start posting pictures.AK_Brickster wrote:Yep, that's very odd. I tried it using a few different ways, and even tried with a different picture in your photostream with no luck. At this point, I defer to someone who might be a bit more tech-savvy than I am. Good luck!

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
I have no idea why this is, but when I copy the URL for an image from your photostream it starts https. I checked and the URLs for images from my stream start http. Https is the code for the 'secure' version of http. This seemed odd, so I removed the 's' from this:
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7390/941 ... afd8_m.jpg
to be this:
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7390/9416 ... afd8_m.jpg
which gives:
This seems really odd. I hadn't seen that before with Flickr.

Nice detective work, Bruce! I actually noticed the "https" from the start, but figured it had nothing to do with the problem.

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
Hi Admin Guys/Gals. I've been trying to update my avatar pic to one of my Flykr photos. Tried shrinking a computer pic but that wasn't successful. System says my Flykr URL is "incorrect" ? Any ideas ? Also, I'm using one of Aggies shields as my Avatar . Could this menu be expanded to include 20/25 Pics of various types of characters e.g. Forest Outlaw, Orcs, bandits etc. maybe 4 or 5 from each province with female characters also. Expanding this option would give heart to S{senior]AFOL's [me] and SC[seriously challenged]AFOLS. Alternately, could you set up small thread link to a place with nice LCC Roawia avatar character pics. Thanks so much. David .

When trying to use a photo hosted online, right click on your Flickr photo and select "copy image location". Paste that link into the avatar form and you should be good to go.

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am having trouble posting my images from FLICKR.
I get the exact same problem as others have gotten.
"It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."
On FLICKR I go to "Grab the HTML/BBCode"
I have traditionally used the BBCode.
I use any of the sizes, and directly copy and paste the code and get "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."
I have never had a problem posting any pictures before in this manner.
Now I am unable to post any image from my FLICKR photostream the way I had been posting them. Even pictures over a year old are not wanting to post. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Funny, exactly the same thing happened to me today ! Is that our problem or CC's (or possibly FICKR?)?SSchmidt wrote:Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am having trouble posting my images from FLICKR.

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
Hey! SSmidt! I used this technic for now and it works! But there still seems to be a problem with the other method (which I prefer as this one is more time consuming). BTW, I found this by exploring the first page of this topic since it seems we're not the first to have this problem .AK_Brickster wrote:This video might be helpful as well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ak_brickst ... otostream/

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
Thanks Josdu, that helped and I was able to post an image. I do have two problems with doing it that way though. It is slightly longer, and it seems to take away the actual link to the photo on FLICKR and just has the photo itself. Then again, I suppose one could then easily post the URL in addition to the picture.

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
You can still manually make the photo into a link to the Flickr page.
just do
[ url=http://www.flickr.imageaddress]
PS - The trouble seems to be in the Flickr BBCode. The link it is creating to the jpg image looks funky, like they are hosted on a new "yimg" site. (Yahoo image, perhaps?)

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
Exact same problem. When I try to copy and paste the BBCode, "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image". I can do the copy and paste photo into img brackets, but then you can't click on the photo and go to the Flickr page. Sometimes the BBCode works fine, but more often then not, especially lately, it hasn't been working. A few weeks ago, it worked without fail.

Re: Problem on Posting an Image
Just watch the video linked above. It will show you how to generate the correct BBCode.Sir Erathor wrote:I'm having the problem that Ak's just explained, but I'm still not sure what to do! Could I have some help, please?
New Flickr seems to be the problem, so get comfy with my method since you'll likely be doing it this way for the foreseeable future
