This is pure speculation, but I think they would make rare figures because they will be harder to find, not because "they didnt test well with kids." If they didnt "test" well with kids, why would they even make them, if kids really are the target market? It don't think that adds up from a business standpoint.

Its business. Harder to find CMF means you are going to have to buy more (if you don't feel, which appears to be the majority of kids). Buying more means TLG makes more money.
Lego is a business. Their goal is to make money. Sure they want people to be happy, but as a byproduct, not a prime product.

Oh I know they test products with kids. As far as testing is concerned, there have been whole lines, developed, and tested...and did not make it to market because they didn't test well with kids. And I also know that the suggestions of ambassadors and online communities have been taken into account with these figs.

But what you say is in fact true, this is a company whose purpose is to make money so of course the goal is exactly that. Which has been my point in this thread. It is not about making fans happy. It's about doing whatever business decision they have made.

But be happy, because this series of figs is NOT going to be available to a large area in Europe specifically Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Why is that, Blue? They don't like Bavarian girls in that part of Europe?

We were not given a reason, but it is not going to be available in those countries. Although they can buy them through other LEGO venues.

How bizarre that they would suddenly decide not to sell the minifigs in a particular swath of countries. Triply bizarre that one of them is Denmark...

Anyway, Series 11 is up on the LEGO website now. Looks like we've got some of the official names wrong--they're showing as Pretzel Girl, Island Warrior, and Saxophone Player.

It seems that these minifigures are far more popular here in the United States.
Could it be that the interest level of series 11 in that part of Europe just isn't as high?

Pure speculation, but I am interested in knowing how well received the minifigures are outside of USA.

Or maybe they've been declining in popularity in that region for a while and it only recently hit the point where it was deemed not worth stocking them.

That could be the case. I'm sure information like this is not made available to the public, but rather stock holders. However, I wish we could see some insight or statistics relating to the the series minifigures, and why series 11 will not be sold in some countries.

I'm excited for the welder, as a welder myself I could use a mini-me for my shop and that oxy-fuel torch looks pretty sweet. :D

He is a very unique figure, and one that I like, albeit I don't want to find 20 :)
My brother thinks the welder is the coolest one in the series.

When can we expect to see series 11 in stores?

Though I'm a bit late to jump into the boat, I must say I'm pretty impressed my Series 11. :)

It's probably because of the horrible, stereotypically sexist "lady" robot. I have to admit I'm kinda embarrassed to be a lego fan once I saw it - the front torso printing is the worst! I couldn't believe they actually printed that on top of the whole pink thing. Ugh. Neither little boys or little girls should ever be subjected to a "toy" figure like that.

How exactly does one depict a "lady robot" without it having some makeup on? I think it will look cute next to the "boy robot".

If someone, anyone, likes the minifigure, then its good lego made it. Obviously every theme/figure lego has made has had people who like it and people who dont like it. It is not the nature of humans to agree. But if there are people who like it, then let them derive joy from it and just avoid it yourself.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of either robots, but I was not "embarrassed to be a lego fan" once I saw it. Every series has held one or two minifigs in it that I dont particularly want, so I just get the other ones, or get a box and sell the ones I dont want.
