It's Thursday Night, Go to the Bar and Have Fun

Postby rogue27 » Thu Aug 19, 2004 8:51 pm

In the United States, people often go to the bars on Thursday nights. So, to all of you eBayers out there, go drink and have fun. Keep your hands away from the bid buttons for another 10 minutes...

(more to come)

And I've failed...

darkwebmaster - that's me, the guy in second place.

I was outbid with 2 seconds remaining. No way I can respond to that sort of speed and accuracy.

Dang fool, don't they know they should be out drinking tonight?

I guess that it went for a good price, though I don't go for misb sets anymore.

Yeah, for MISB I would. It's one of 3 forestmen sets I need for my collection. It's not like it's real money anyway, it was just the money I got for selling the Imperial Trading Post, so it would have been more like a trade than a purchase.

I don't really know if it was a good price, but the Forestmen's River Crossing the same seller had went for $280... insane! This was $103 until the last 2 seconds. :( Oh well, enough sadness, I'll just add more stuff to that bulk order!

Hi Rogue!

That's a pity.
However, if YOU had been the guy bidding within the last two seconds you probably would have won. At a lower price even.

The $280 for 6071 is even more than I have paid for my MISB version once. And usualy I am the guy who pays the high prices :-(
(And I already regret I have opened my MISB 6071.)

Bye

I don't know. If the auction had still been at $60 there probably would have been 3 or 4 people bidding on it at the end instead of just one. The guy who won it was probably using some software that automatically places a bid at a specific time. I can not beat that.

I can't bid within the last 2 seconds. I don't trust my internet connection that much. I can bid within the last 30 or 40 seconds, but I've completely missed auctions by trying to push my luck further than that.

Oh well. I won't be able to try winning one of those again for a while anyway, but there are a bunch of used ones on eBay right now, so maybe I'll try to get one of those for now.
