I am seriously hating on everyone and these amazing deals, right now.

Mirkwood for $21.00? Helm's for $89.00? Volunteering for tours now sounds like a bad life choice. Ugh.

If anyone lives near a Meijer, I've found a lot of Hobbit sets (Goblin King battle, Attack of the Wargs, + some Star Wars and City) around 25%-30% off. I've visited three locations all with sales, so it would be safe to say that the one near by you would more than likely have some clearance sales too.

I hope others are able to find good deals as well.

Admittedly, it's not castle related but there have been some Star Wars finds on clearance as well at Walmart, including the planets and battle packs.

There are some pieces that could certainly be used for castle building.

I would also like to offer some input on the wargs attack for $35.00 that str0ngbad and myself have found. That is an incredibly good deal when you factor in the wargs and minifigs. Not to mention all the foliage and brown and bley bricks.

I would strongly encourage you to get one at that price if you are able.

Unless the draw down specifically targets this AO, I'll be here another year, as I recently extended. With recent losses and having been nearly everywhere in this country, I figured, "Better me than someone else."

If the draw down does target here, I may be back as early as this September. If it doesn't, I've submitted leave for November which has yet to be approved or denied (I'm guessing they're also waiting to see what's going to happen). So, I guess to answer your question: Two to three months.

I'm also from the DFW area, so if you were willing, I could easily pick them up somewhere. Hit me up in a message if you're still okay with this. Thanks.

That is an incredible price. I bought numerous sets at the $40.00 mark and thought I was doing well, but $5.00 less is a steal and would have allowed me two additional sets and then some for what I spent.

I don't want to go too far off topic, but I found a bunch of Helm's Deeps for $65 at a local store. I couldn't afford to buy them all, so I only bought five.

Anyway, thanks for the notice, I'll check my Wal-Mart today!

EDIT:

Success! Some 30% off clearances at my local walmart:

Unexpected Gathering: $49
Mirkwood: $21
Uruk-hai Army: $21

I found the Black Gate on sale for $40 dollars at my local Wal-Mart. Unexpected Gathering was $46. They also had quite a few Chima sets marked down.

Hey Curt,

At my local Wal-Mart they have the Attack of the Wargs set for $35, but other than that the other LotR/Hobbit sets are gone or not currently on clearance. :?

I continue to find more of these clearance sets. Unfortunately, in my area, I am not finding any more of the Hobbit sets clearanced. I have been to quite a few Walmarts and only the one had them clearanced. I did, however, find a non-castle related Star Wars set, "The Malevolence," for $60. I was very happy to get it at that price since the MSRP was over $100 (even though it usually stayed at around $95) and considering there are over 1,000 pieces in the set and some of them are really good.

What I really want to find is one of the Cragger Command Ship's clearanced, although I have not seen any Chima sets marked off at all. If anyone is able to find this one, or see any Chima sets on sale at Wal-Marts or these other retail stores please PM me :)
