Yeah I think mixing would be good. I have plans for cow-mounted knights and pig-powered chariots, among other things.

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
Sorry for the double-post, but does anyone have any extra of Guy's Kickstarter pig and/or cow heads they'd be willing to sell (or even just loan for the duration of the convention)? I have 8 of each coming, but my plan has slowly evolved into wanting to have all of my evil knights sporting pig heads, and all of my bull knights sporting cow heads. I'm thinking around 12-20 figs for each army's side.
VS.
If anyone would like to contribute to the armies:
PIGS: CMF "Evil Knight" figs and "New Dragon" figs with torsos turned backward (to hide dragon emblem) w/ Pig heads. All will have dark red arms to match the shield logo.

(You could also use the old plate armor torso w/ dark red arms, if you don't have any of the above)
Pigs will be pulled into battle in pig-drawn chariots.
COWS: KK1 Bull knights, preferably w/ Bull emblem on torso. I'm undecided on arm color, but leaning toward yellow or black.

Bulls can be riding cows as mighty battle steeds.
Who's interested??

I have more heads coming then I will need. You can certainly use whatever ones I have left over. Not sure on exact count until it gets closer.

OK, excellent. Just got a quote for additional sets of heads, and it's $18/set, which seems considerably more than the Kickstarter price.

Excellent Josh. Do you need any volunteers for building trophies, or are you good with that?
I am working diligently on my big sigfig. I know AK_Brickster is working on his. I think we may get a black falcon also.

My "Big-Fig" currently has his legs finished. I'm hoping my Lugbulk order will provide me with some parts to help do the torso with. Figuring it will have to be done mosaic-style, due to the design intricacy.
Also, got my PvC heads in yesterday. 3 sets + a bonus set! It's on like Donkey Kong!

Haha. I'm about in the same place. Legs are done. But I am waiting bricklink orders. I needed corner bricks. And yeah, I'm thinking mosaic for my torso also. This is eating up the bricks as much as Ollie ate up the plates. Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with it. But those instructions are a pain.My "Big-Fig" currently has his legs finished. Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
The instructions are god-awful. Since I'm using parts from my own collection, I am just using whatever I have, meaning that I can't follow the steps as they are in the PDF. I wish I had a completed one that I could reference instead

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
I completely agree. I'm using mostly 2x4's and this set is eating them up. The PDF is an okay reference, but if I don't build on a baseplate, I keep getting lost. Here I thought I would have the worst time with the wig I have to recreate, but honestly, I think I'm having a harder time with the instructions than I will when I do a wig on my own.

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
I had to do the dark brown "apron" on the front of my fig's legs, meaning that I had to use all sorts of weird parts to do it. Talk about having trouble keeping track of how many layers you're supposed to do!
Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
I never realized how few black 2x bricks I have! The black side is mostly made up of 2x2 black bricks!
But at least I'm building early this year!
@Josh: I will be bringing my cloister (48x48) with pig/cow monks + some landscaping (48x32) to go beside it on one side.

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
Looking good, Tedward!
I gave in and just grabbed a case of 2x4 brown bricks, so I'll be able to get my arms and hood done easily now, I think. I totally forgot to buy some yellow bricks for the head and hands though

I will have troops to contribute to both sides of this conflict.JoshWedin wrote:I do need a headcount/show of hands as to how many people are doing something related to the Con Theme of Pigs Vs Cows.
I am planning a separate area in the collaborative layout for the PvC stuff. Epic battle!

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
Does anyone want to paint my PvC heads for me? I am afraid I won't have time to do it before the con
Nothing fancy required, particularly for the pigs, since they're already flesh colored. Cows could use some brown paint though, and all of them need eyes done. I can pay for paint and paintbrush as well as shipping, if not local to Seattle.
