CCCXI Category Suggestions

Post by royalbrickcustoms »

Hey everyone,

As the summer starts to wind down and we start to prepare for CCCXI, I thought it would be a good idea to start thinking of potential categories for this years contest.

Some NEW Category Ideas could include:

Epic Battle

Description:

Build a 32x32 MOC showing an battle of epic proportions. This could be a battle with a dragon, or a epic castle siege. Make it epic!

Royal Feast

Description:

Build a MOC showing a feast fit for a King!

Anyone have any other ideas?

Hi there!

We appreciate your suggestions.

Just to highlight a bit of the process, categories are often determined based on the prizes that the Admin team is able to collect through the year. These are donated prizes from various sources. This is also why there's variation year to year for the categories.

If there's a category you're particularly passionate about, I'd suggest considering an appropriate prize, then contacting an Admin to look into making a donation to make that category possible.

In addition, the categories are closely guarded so everyone has a fair chance at building.

Very, very cruel.
Which specific admin would one need to contact in relation to donating a prize such as an unopened LEGO set?
Also, do they have to be castle theme specific, or could licenses (Blue loves her licenses!) such as LOTR, Hobbit, be donated?

Oh I love a good license. In fact, some lines have been my favorite lines...Indiana Jones, loving the Hobbit,...etc.

And I agree with Bruce, I have some ideas for categories too, but I'm not telling either. :halo:

I would really like to see some sort of battle category again. Probably cause I'm a Loreesi warmonger. ;)
I might have to donate a battle pack or two..

Off subject, I really appreciate the hard work that goes into making the categories! They're always so unique and inspiring! Thanks admins! :)

Admins and/or Moderators,

Can you guys please give me a little hint on what some of the categories for CCCXI will be?

Because I'm trying to "stock up" on parts (that are used in some of the more advanced techniques) and I wanted to plan on what to buy so as not to waste money on unnecessary parts.

I have some ideas for MOCs already planned, but was wondering if you could give me a little guidance?

Thanks,

No.

This has never happened and never will. The CCC will open on November 1st as it always does. Be patient and wait like everyone else.

Sorry, friend. No can do. The contest is long enough that you can stock up on parts after the categories are announced. Just hold off on your purchases and you will be fine.

I'd actually say that, while there certainly are some parts that might be more useful for some categories than others, at the end of the day, it's a CASTLE CONTEST, so pretty much all of your "castle" parts are going to work for any category.
