Genesis 7:17 - 8:5 (ESV)

17 For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. 18 The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 19 They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. 20 The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits. 21 Every living thing that moved on land perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. 22 Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. 23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

24 The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.

8 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

Yeah I am very fond of this as well.
Do you have any plans of building any other biblical scenes? Sodom and Gomorrah or David and Goliath come to mind :D

Yes, I actually do! I was thinking about doing a 31 day vignette series, where everyday I post a small biblical scene, kind of going through the main events in the bible! And I have other ideas of building bigger scenes. My friend made the best John the Baptist scene I have seen yet! You can see it here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/307798. He has made other scenes from the bible, so make sure to look at those as well!

I've had some thoughts about making some biblical scenes. I just don't know where or how to start. I'll try to toss some ideas around, alright?

Sweet! It would be awesome if you could make some biblical mocs!

Hey sorry for the late response.
I am by no means an expert on the Bible and my qualifications are paltry compared to others but some scenes that I think would be very interesting (albeit some would be hard to master) are...

Old Testament
1.) David and Goliath.
2.) Daniel and the Lions Den.
3.) Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego in the fiery furnace (that fourth man is likened to the Son of God  )
4.) Jonah being swallowed by a "great fish."
5.) Samson and the foxes or jawbone of a donkey.
6.) Abraham sacrificing Isaac.
7.) Jacob wrestling the Angel of The Lord.
8.) Jacob and the stairway to heaven.
9.) Elijah calling down fire from heaven in 1 Kings 18.
10.) Elijah being swept up into heaven in a whirlwind.
11.) The walls of Jericho tumbling down.
12.) Moses a Sinai with 10 Commandments
13.) Moses and parting of Red Sea.
14.) Moses and the burning bush.
15.) Nebudchadnezzar eating grass

New Testament
1.) Feeding of the 5,000.
2.) Jesus walking on the water.
3.) Stephen being stoned (not being morbid, but his discourse to the Pharisees is AWESOME before they stone him, and one of my favorite passages in Scripture).
4.) Saul on the Damascus Road
5.) John seeing the new heaven and new earth in Revelation
6.) Paul and Silas in prison.
7.) Zaccheus climbing a tree.
8.) Peter and John sprinting to the empty tomb.
9.) Cornelius' conversion in Acts.
10.) The early church meeting in homes.
11.) Peter preaching at Pentecost.

Yeah, I know that's a lot, but these are SOME of my favorite accounts in the Scriptures

I agree, those are all great scenes SSchmidt. A friend of mine, Blake (Baericks on flickr), built an excellent scene of Abraham and Isaac a couple years ago, give it a look here.

Thats a great list, thanks guys! I was thinking about doing scenes that I can fit on a 16x16 baseplate, and have 31 of them, one every day. Some of the ones you listed just won't fit on a 16x16 baseplate!

Aeridian, I saw that moc, and I love it! Yes, I know who Blake Baer is. (who doesn't? )

Haha, true. I wasn't sure if SSchmidt had seen it yet, so hence the link and builder's name.

A series of vignettes, eh? That sounds like a pretty neat plan. Maybe if you trim a scene down to a specific place or important dialogue, it might fit better.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing a specific scene from the bible.

Ex: 1. David and Goliath
2. Abraham and Isaac (Abraham's Test)
3. Daniel in the Lions Den
4. Jericho falling down

etc. etc. etc.

So specific scene on a 16x16 baseplate, and the only typing I will do is the Bible verses from that scene, and Soli Deo Gloria! :D
