LCC GCV: You're late

Post by mpoh98 »

Here is my entry for GC5, Group "A": Your Late, Parts 1 - 3

Part 2 - Kole to the Rescue

Part 3 - Escape

So here is my entry into the GCV. I did not get to build what I fully wanted to, since life and school took over.

All three scenes were actually built on 1 baseplate! Here is one picture showing you how. Go to my flickr for more pictures of the build.

Wow, lovely stonework and rockwork! Having all three scenes on one baseplate is really clever. My favorite scene is the wall climbing one; the climbing action and use of green tiles is a nice touch. :)

Wow, awesome job Matthew! It's neat how they all fit together. :)

Great work Matt! Having all the parts connected is a really neat idea. :)

I like the rockwork and wall texture in the first build, the second build has great texturing in the wall and I like the round tower in the corner. Excellent rockwork in the third build, the tilted sections especially. There are a few things I think could be improved: where you widened the round tower with inverted slopes there are gaps, here is a pic showing one way of solving that:

Also the third scene wall design looks a little odd to me, the sand green looks a little odd when used in a regular pattern, I think it work better scattered through the wall to show moss. The tudor sections are a neat idea and look alright, but removing the tan bits and give the roofs a steeper slant would improve them in my opinion. Overall three very good builds :)

Thank you Isaac for the critique, I will use them in the future. :D

I really like this series of builds, though would agree with those who've mentioned that the sand green could be more spread out. I really admire your building style, and your MOCs just keep getting better! :D

Very, very nice builds. I am impressed.
I am one of those that actually does not mind the sand green. I don't know that it meshes well with the light tan at the top of the wall, but I still think it looks pretty good. I realize in a traditional castle wall the Sand green wouldn't be in uniformity, but I still ike it ;)

By the way, it should be "You're late" as opposed to "Your late."

When your builds look this good, I have to nitpick on something :D It makes me feel better
