Super September

Post by Quickblade22 »

 I've noticed the craze lately over the super hero theme , particular the figures. I remember being one of many to suggest super heroes in the Dear Lego section a few years back. I'm not usually a fan of licensed themes but this was needed. Lego provided in a big way with both Marvel and DC. The customizer fan base went nuts with recreating different versions of popular ones as well as the ones left out or more obscure characters. While that's all well and good, I always wanted something original and non-flesh toned. I present to you my Yellowverse of super heroes and super villains. My plan is to be able to post one figure each day for the remainder of September. I started on the 7th and already have 5 figures posted. Here is a sample of some of them with many more to come. "Will Quickblade be able to complete his goal"? Stay tuned true believer and see what happens over the next month.

Yes I'd noticed some of your designs on flickr whilst working on my own.

Flickr user jgg3210 had created a group for original creations in a lego universe (rather than recreating existing dc/marvel characters, or creating original characters for the dc/marvel universes) http://www.flickr.com/groups/llh/ if you wanted to add them.

Here are some of the heroes I've made recently

Thanks!! I'm glad you guys like them. Andhe, those are some cool characters and I joined the group you linked to. I tried to make most of my characters so that other people would be able to make them using existing pieces or easy to buy parts. I actually have a city or cities planned out (story wise) for my Yellowverse that centers around my interpretation on the over used, but well deserved city of New York. Here is a shot of the other 3 super villains I have posted thus far. Enjoy!!

I finished my quest to make 1 minifig a day for the remainder of September. 24 minifigs in 24 days was quite a feat. Take a look through the main link and let me know who your favorite villain and hero are either here or on Flickr. More to come eventually. Enjoy!!

I'd been following your super-progress on flickr, but had quite realised that you'd managed to upload one every day. That's an impressive body of work, both figs and editing.

I said on flickr but I think my favourites are Dynamo and Red Sun. Great combos and backstories.

I'm still working on rounding out my 'Justice Avengers' but here my current additions.

Thanks Andhe. I'm glad some people enjoyed my minifigs. Over the past month, I came up with some surprising combos and my photo shop skills increased as well. We built a light box that I used for my last 3 or 4 figures and that helped a great deal. The bigger plan is to be able to make some small little MOCs or Vigs with the characters. I invested a lot of time, money, and effort into them, so this won't be the last you see of them.

Love the work you've done on your figures. The latest few have all the makings of a female exclusive group. :)
