Yes, and once "earned", said custom ranks are often quite difficult to get rid of!

I noticed it only went to 2800 posts so far. Is there an official title once you reach 3000 posts yet?

The 8 people with over 2800 posts all have custom titles. You'll just have to wait until Kelderic makes another 480 posts (at his current rate of 0.95 posts per day, this should happen some time around Christmas 2014).
