Beyond The Great Vast Forest

The “bloom” in Bloomwood was not an arbitrary name. It came from the pure awe and wonder that the massive forest inspired in the adventurers that landed there. The massive, ivory trees, as well as the multitude of colorful flowers, motivated the explorers to aptly name the forest “The Bloomwood.” That being said, traversing through the flowery undergrowth is no easy task, and getting lost is a common occurrence…

Stumbling over his own two feet, Scott was nearly breathless by the time Holly decided to run off. Sensing something that the other two hadn’t, the canine had bounded through the forest, leaving the two human wanderers to pick up the slack.

“Holly, no!” boomed Ryan, finally finding his voice after the encounter with the Water Witch that nearly cost them all their lives.

Escape had seemed nearly impossible when the witch appeared before them, but fear is a fantastic motivator. Scott and Ryan managed to outrun the banshee, never once looking back. Whether due to lack of interest or lack of energy, the long-dead princess did not give chase very far, but the duo kept on running.

“Where can she even go off to? There is nothing but miles of flowers and trees around us! We’re doomed, and now we don’t even have our dog!” Scott said, dread and panic apparent in his eyes. He still grasped the vial of healing water in his left hand, and he was gripping his staff with all his might.

She’s clearly got the scent, or the sound, of something we don’t! We’ve got to follow her, don’t give up now!” Ryan replied, before running off in the direction of his lost companion. Letting out a sigh, Scott followed closely on his heels.

Soon enough, both of them noticed a change. The sound of running water was audible, and then a sudden splash and distant voices. Ryan picked up his pace, and Scott followed suit.

A grand, flowing river interrupted the endless panorama of petals and leaves. Two armored (and armed) men were floating in a boat downstream, and Holly was paddling closer to them!

“Well, well, well, look what we have here! Hello, my furry little friend!” said the figure in green. He had a strong, confident look about him, and he was petting Holly affectionately as she climbed into the boat.

“George, don't let that… that thing into the boat! It probably wants to devour us!” the man dressed in a black cape with the strangely decorated tunic stated. He was rowing quickly, and his face showed that he was not at all pleased with the new shipmate.

“Harold, you worry too much. This is a fine dog, and I'm sure it’s just hungry, that’s all!” George said. He looked up briefly, and noticed the two blue-clad, awe struck adventurers peering down from the riverbank.

“Why, hello there! Care to join us?” George yelled over the sound of the water.

Scott and Ryan both exchanged puzzled looks, and then jumped into the coursing river.

The next exciting installment of Scott and Ryan's journey is here! Two new characters are introduced, and so far nothing is known about them. A few fellows in a boat in the middle of a thick forest's river? Seems a bit suspicious to me! ;)

C&C welcome! :)

It will be interesting to see the two new characters' roles. Nice perspective in the picture and I like the rockwork :)

There's something about your builds that impress be greatly. The sense of realism you can capture is quite inspiring. Keep it up! :)
