Current Friends Line

Post by Bluesecrets »

Since this has been a topic every day in chat for about a week or so, I figured I should bring it up here.

The current Friends line is full of AWESOME! This isn't including the exciting and amazing Disney Princesses, which alone makes me squeal in delight, but just the Friends.

The Sunshine Harvester brings us back the RED APPLE!!!!!! I think it is the set that has a 1x4 brick brick in it...yes I said 1x4. AND!!!!! The new plant is in this set!

There is trans light blue cheese!!!!! There is a set with a sheep! There is the return of the CHICKEN! There is some odd corner tile that I have zero excitement about but I'm sure someone will be excited about it.

Go check out the inventories of:

Sunshine Harvester:

Stephanie's New Born Lamb:

Sunshine Ranch:

In fact, every single purchase I have made this year has been in the Friends line and the Disney Princesses...the parts are amazing.

Thanks for the heads up, Blue. There are some great new parts in those sets, and the return of the red apples is great!

Awesome, thanks Blue! I got my first Friends set the other day, a small polybag. It's actually pretty decent, and I'm so pleased Mia's hair fits on a normal figure! :D

I didn't see any 1x4 brick bricks. I saw a 1x4 log brick, but those have been available for a while.

The red apple is a nice part, especially since you get 5 in each set. Those things are going for over $1 ea on BL, so hopefully this will help to drive the price down to a more reasonable level.

The sheep is an interesting part. I wonder if it looks too cartoonish next to a minifig shepherd... Does anyone have one so we can see a picture next to a standard medieval-themed fig?

I currently only own one Friends set (from last years line, the Olivia's Lab set or something like that) and I do enjoy the new female hairpieces, so I may have to pick up a few of them from this line too, given the parts both new and old that appear in fresh forms.

The sheep looks ok, but I wonder how small it is. It can't be much bigger than the LEGO rat!
I want some of those 1x4 masonry bricks in light bley...desperately. Imagine how much easier it would be to build large structures!

It is waist high on the figs. As far as it being about the same size as a rat, well it is supposed to be a lamb not necessarily an adult sheep. But the size of the rat itself could be debated. I know there are big rats in the world. Not that I've been one to see a huge rat, but they apparently exist. I think the LEGO rat is too big myself. Scabbers from the HP line was a better size. But, I don't think I want that sheep to be much bigger. Maybe one or two nestable sizes bigger would do for an adult, but a sheep isn't supposed to be up to your shoulder in height. And if it is, well then whoa Momma that is some epic sheep!

Some great new parts.

Did anyone else notice this -

The 1x4 masonry profile bricks are nice, but don't make for a realistic profile IMO. The bricks are too long. I'd be a lot more hyped for these sets if the animals were a bit more 'system' compatible. That sheep, though cute, looks like a character from the muppets/sesame street. Nice to see the chicken back though. I think the series 5 bear cub looks usable alongside the standard bear though.

EDIT: I've looked at the 1x2 profile brick online and wonder if it is the same as the 1x4 profile (length of grooves etc). Would like to see a side-by-side comparison if someone gets some!

Andhe,

Give me a couple days. I am going to see how much that set is an Ill do a comparison for us all. I was thinking the use of a 1x4 would be great for the use of a foundation. not so much mixed into a wall.
